Battlefield 3 PC Version won't have in-game server browser

Ugh nevermind. I'm getting a little angry about 10 pages of bullshit and ingratitude. They're shitting on something they don't even know, funny.
In the end there will be one and single server browser : Battlelog web. Works good, loads fast.
You can cry as much as you want ( PC gamers trademark ), won't change shit. Too bad. Time to cancel your preorders i guess.
I was in the alpha and it was very nippy. However once Beta comes with all the bloat added then we'll see how well it opens / closes. Alpha lacks plenty of content so yeah, it'll start up fast.
Ugh. You should not Alt-Tab!
You close the game, you land back in your web-browser, you pick a new server, and it loads in 10 seconds.
Were any of you even in Alpha? Would you please listen to those who were?
Well still allows the occasional closing freeze and that firefox takes a while for me. But my main point is why not give us 2 options. Not everyone wants to have to sign into the game through there browser especially if they don't use the main browsers like firefox. It wouldn't be that hard to allow 2 options of how you can join servers. It wouldn't be hard to do.

And they'll optimize it before the release of the final product. Personally I would be surprised if the alpha is faster than the final product, but we'll see.
Does BF3 have regenerating health btw?
Does BF3 have regenerating health btw?
From what I hear no. You need a medic to heal you or if it does heal its really, really slowly.

There is a rather slow regen, but yes, a medic is preferred.

Indeed, EA and DICE isn't giving a single shit about the PC you stupid cunt, they just focused their attention on the PC with BF3 since the beginning. Why did you think the console owners crying about ?
Remove modding capabilities, the major thing that's keeping even 1942 played to this day?
Check!
Pull the game off of Steam, force users to use a brand new system out of the blue?
Check!
No ingame server browser, have to close the game to begin to look for a new server, and then relaunch it? Give that pesky server browser to the Console gamers! They need it more!
Check!
Battlefield3: Best on the PC!

Battlefield3: Best on the PC!
God you're so thick. They said it themselves the engine is too complicated for modding, there's nothing wrong with Origin, and Battlelog works perfectly fine it takes like 20 seconds from leaving a sever to entering a new one. Stop whining, were you even in the Alpha? If not, then please be quiet.
Also, if the menu is essentially that one site, how is single player gonna work offline? If I heard correctly, the server browser also has the grayed out Singleplayer and Coop buttons, so if you've got no internet connection and you want to play some Battlefield 3, what do you do?
Just wait till you see it.

I am sure the devs will have something for that.

They'll find ways to do anything.
Two, you're a damn moron. This is the Alpha, with a few maps and the basic Multiplayer. Of course It's gonna load fast. Wait for the full release, when it has to launch a full game off of that browser of yours.
Meanwhile MW3 has a server browser, and it seems it might have real, proper dedis (not just rented ones).
There is absolutely no point in this, it's bullshit and EA can go fuck themselves. First Origin, now this, not to mention being fed up to fuck with modern war games.
Not cancelling pre-order because they could still change (not to mention this doesn't make the game shit all of sudden), but BF3 is higher up on the list of "the ones to cancel if I don't have enough money for all 6000 games that are coming out this fall" now.

I really hope so.
Also please don't tell me people really buy into their shit of the engine being too complex for modding.

I hate to say it, but it doesn't exactly look like Battlefield is killing Call of Duty just yet.

People managed to make a Portal 2 JuryRigged editor when they were getting desperate. They'll find a way for this engine too.

And why would you say that.

God damnit, this is going to be a fucking great game, with amazing potential, but EA is ruining it by doing the stupidest shit.
It's not that it's a requirement, but it's kind of a rivalry they've had going on. Bad Company 2 was DICE's challenge to Infinity Ward.

I've heard claims in the past of engines that were so complicated, and lookie here. Almost every game engine out there is moddable.
[editline]19th August 2011[/editline]
well the portal editor was easy because everyone knows the source engine in and out anyways, no one in the community has ever made a frostbite map
Yeah, that's true, but like I've said, the modding community is stubborn as hell.

It's really just a way for them to push DLC to us.
I can see it now:
BATTLEFIELD 3: 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION. NOW WITH A PROPER SERVER BROWSER AND MODDING TOOLS
I think EA tried too hard. They wanted to make something special for the PC gamers, such as the battlelog with Facebook like features and so on, but forgot that no PC gamer asked for it.
Great in theory but perhaps bad in practice. I didn't really like it when I played the alpha, but if you think it's going to change my decision to buy the game or not then you're wrong.
I've only read the first page, and it saddens me how all of you or so thickheaded. EA and DICE have made so much to please the PC gamers, and what do they get in return?
Tons and tons of kids screaming at them. Haha, there's really no difference between PC gamers and console gamers.
I could see them saying not on release but they should have at least said they will try in the future.
Well there was an interview where the question of will there be modding tools and the answer was "Well, as of now, there will be no modding tools." So it may change in the future, but you know no promises.
I don't see why they don't make it an ingame server browser. I mean, with Steam you can open up a browser by simply pressing 2 buttons, and your still ingame. It would be grand if they added something like that instead of having to quit all the time.
ITT: IN-GAME BROWSERS DETERMINE HOW GOOD THE GAME IS.
ITT: People who don't realize how retarded and inconvenient an out of game server browser is
1. It will be slow.
Imagine a site getting hit by ten thousand people every minute. I bet it'll be unavailable a lot. This doesn't even take into account the hassle of having to close the game and restart it everytime you want to join a different server.
2. Not being able to play while servers are under maintenance.
What the fuck is this, some kind of MMO?
3. It's open to abuse.
Kiddies are pissing their pants with sheer joy, knowing how much rage they'll be able to cause by fucking with the battlelog website. Do we really want another PSN fiasco to happen? We all know how much strife there is between different FPS communities. This is like putting a giant red FUCK-ME-UP button on your new Ferrari.
"JEAH ITS KINDA ANNOYING BUT THE GAME IS GOOD LOL"
=
"JEAH SURE HAVING TO HAVE THIS GIANT PURPLE DILDO IN MY ANUS IS QUITE ANNOYING, BUT THE GAME IS FUN LOL"

Like not giving us mod tools to push DLC on us? Like forcing Origin because they can't compete with Steam, and therefore need to force it on us to get it going? Forcing us to use an external server list that almost surely will rely on Origin to be absolutely sure we don't somehow manage to disable it?
They know very well what we want and don't want, this isn't a misguided attempt to please us. All this bullshit began with Origin (well except the mod tools, that began with Oblivion and WaW when the industry noticed that hey, people will buy our overpriced tiny DLC for what they used to buy an entire expansion big as the vanilla game).
Well Battlelog worked in the Alpha. You should wait and see how it works in the open beta.
I know this is quite annoying, but it definitely doesn't justify 13 pages of rage, you guys are bigoted and your standards are too high.
