Battlefield 3 PC Version won't have in-game server browser

Great job EA, you've managed to make me dislike BF3 just as much as I dislike the CoD series before you've even released it. That takes real skill.
Plus consoles get an in game browser so why not?
EA, slowly killing everything they touch. One franchise at a time.
Why don't they just fucking embed the whole battlelog site INTO the game. That's what I thought they'd do after all that fucking bullshit in the alpha.
The whole fight between EA and Activision is like two retards throwing punches at each other.
EA brags about having stuff that CoD doesn't have as if it's a gift from the gods and not something that should already be in a game, while digging themselves a hole by going anti-Steam, etc.
Activision repackages the same stuff and is probably going to end up with the most sales anyway.
I don't really mind, even though I like to browse servers myself.. so it is a little disappointing too.
Gotta wait and see though. I'm glad to hear the game loads up fast, I wonder how can such a fine-tuned good graphics game take fast to load..
It seems Activision, EA and Ubisoft are deliberately trying to be dicks. It's like a dick-waving contest between dicks.
EA, are you trying to make everyone hate you?

I think EA wants to take their throne as "the worst game company" back from activision since they lost it to them some time ago.
What the fuck is this?
It worked pretty well in the alpha in terms of being responsive and working fine. But I can see how it would get really annoying for trying to find a good server.
i am preparing to have alot of boxes, but all of you are over reacting.
sure, it removes modability, and is a pain in the ass to deal with, but im STILL going to play this, seeing as they are doing a great job with the game itself, though to be honest, not with this whole battlelog crap.
origin isnt that bad to me, and i expect an update to BF3 anyway some time in the future, due to many complaints, they will probably add a server browser in game.
only thing thats really wrong with origin is that 2 year account deletion thing.

I'm guessing it's fast to open/close - loading times aren't affected by whether there is an in-game server browser or not.

Good job, EA. You've just made a seven year Battlefield Veteran leave.
did you really? that's pretty silly of you
After hearing this news I cancelled my pre-order.

I don't actually play online, but this sort of thing is why I'm not going to be getting BF3 until they fix all their stupid ideas. Only able to start the game from a web browser? I don't even want to know how big a security hole that is. Plus the whole "not on Steam" debacle, the lack of mod support, and the fact that Bad Company honestly wasn't a good Battlefield game (it was a great Call of Duty, though).
Guess I'll go play some more BF2...
What the fuck. No.. no.. NNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!
After hearing this news I cancelled my pre-order.

This the stupidest reason to cancel a pre-order. The actual game isn't affected at all.

Oh, is that all ?

Yeah, cancel your pre-order just because you have to leave the game to find a server.
Just so you know, I'm totally against this shit but why the fuck would you cancel your pre-order because of it?
This the stupidest reason to cancel a pre-order. The actual game isn't affected at all.
It doesn't matter if the game itself isn't affected at all. It's stupid and inconvinient and people are choosing to not deal with it.
i would love to be in the meeting where some guy actually pitched this idea.
At one time I was genuinely excited for this game.
But since its announcement its been nothing but bad news.
It's kind of sad to see that Activision is giving more attention to PC than EA, even though Kotick himself says the PC is of relatively low priority to the company.
It doesn't even look that great gameplay wise, anyway. 'Hurr realism MORDERN WARFERE" has never really been my thing.

Plus there are plenty of other high profile games coming out soon. I bought Red Orchestra 2 myself.
Yeah, cancel your pre-order just because you have to leave the game to find a server.
In all honesty it comes from combined reasons, but this was the nail too the coffin.
Lack of mods, lack of server browser, and Origin Only... With every good, comes a bad.
This is fucking stupid
Any real hope of even trying to make mods for BF3 has just gone out the window. :suicide:
they've already said there will be 0% chance of mod tools
bad company 3, everyone please stop denying it
"We have 400% more per-orders than MW2 we can do whatever the fuck we want."
It doesn't matter if the game itself isn't affected at all.
then what?
also, chances are, if their decision of not having an in-game server browser is final, then they probably found a way to make it just as efficient, as one of the members here pointed out
