how is having a browser based server browser greedy?
Well mainly taking about the origins stuff when it came to greed.
They said they would change it because of the alpha. The will also include a commo-rose because of the feedback of the alpha so they do listen to the community.
Tweet or mail them and tell them it's a bad move and if enough people says it's bad they will probably change it.
they already did
no, that was a fake
infantry wise you only see that triangle if you have line of sight, vehicles wise I believe it's still the same but I'm not sure

a lot of people enjoy the unbalance, it's pretty much the same as going on ut and taking the railgun at the start and doing everything from there
Poor excuse for a console port. The game would've been of higher quality if it was designed with the PC in mind.
Absolutely no source for this. Nothing was said of an in-game server browser, and with Black Ops they forced you to buy the servers from a specific hosting company.
That list is awful and very biased.
Have you been under a rock for the last few days

FREE dedicated servers, meaning you don't have to pay for them. And if there are servers there's a server list.
Hmpf, I was ready to write some very angry comments but judging from people actually sharing experience with the system, it's not that horrid. Did anyone that played the Alpha actually disliked the battlelog features? I have yet to hear any real experiences.
Plus maybe an external server browser works better than their internal one. The BC2 server browser was a drama at start.
What I'm wondering is, how can someone like Modern Warfare 3 and not like Battlefield 3 (and vice versa)? It's the same time era, same general genre. MW3 is even more console oriented in both the SP and the MP whereas BF3 is more PC oriented. The entire hatedom was pretty much created by fanboyism.
[sp]I've liked the MW2 SP even though it was ridiculous and the series stagnated[/sp]

I like my idea of a web based one that exists in-game using a built in webkit-based browser like Steam has
Tell EA

Arcade shooter VS Tactical shooter, different things.
Some people don't like vehicles thrown in the mix, some people like the tactical aspect they provide.

Its just suer fast kills/death with no real thinking behind it.
What happens if you have no internet? You can't get to the site to launch the game.
This is EAs version of From Dusts drm

Tell EA
Origin has a in game web browser.

I've read in the BF3 thread that launching from the browser skips all the intros and stuff and is generally quite fast, I'd still rather not have it though
also it's getting a bit silly, isn't it? Now you have to launch origin, your browser and only then the game
how is unbalance a bad excuse for a port? the game was designed with bad balance in mind, they want people to get the good guns, and run and gun people who have their back turned or have worse guns
people like that gameplay
Unbalance is a horrible design theory. For example, if I were to create a game where practically every weapon one-to-two shots, it'd be shit. The CoD series isn't much better, taking a bad formula that somehow sells and rehashing the same thing each year.
Battlelog wasn't even that terrible you guys are overreacting to nothing
you dont have to launch origin
You have to have origin running to play BF3
Oh hell, this was my major complaint with the Alpha Trial. First, it didn't support my main browser (Opera) so whenever I wanted to start it I had to copy-paste the link into Internet Explorer. Then, I had to find a server and attempt to join it, at which point Origin might or might not start the game, depending on the weather and the astrological alignment of the fucking planets. Dammit EA, this is stupid.

All the alpha players in this thread complaining about it
a lot of people enjoy the unbalance, it's pretty much the same as going on ut and taking the railgun at the start and doing everything from there
No, good players enjoy the unbalance beacuse the more you kill, the better weapons you get (which is the exact opposite of what would've actually made it challenging). If only good players can like a certain aspect of a game, then it completely removes the appeal of casual gaming consoles excel at.

I fucking love the modern warfare series (NOT all of call of duty) because of the great singleplayer and because of the massive imbalance in mp
battlefield has been in this weird limbo of in-between fast paced gameplay and drawn-out large-scale gameplay since the first bad company, where it takes a shitlong time to get from place to place without a vehicle but infantry vs infantry is over almost immediately, and it hasn't exactly taken the best of both worlds

what I'm trying to say is you shouldn't be encouraged to do 360 falling noscopes in a battlefield game but so far bf3 looks like that kind of game, jets or not
like i said ea are dicks
source
found a twitter post but even if you do, the guy said they would optimize the fuck out of it
ffs, it's common knowlege by now http://bf3blog.com/2011/08/origin-required-to-play-battlefield-3/
and yes, I have Origin Beta downloaded. It's lightweight as hell, I run both it and Steam and never notice a performance drop, I was simply stating how the number of required programs to run one specific program is getting silly

It will be probably limited to 1000 servers and get abandoned after 3 months of release. I don't see how they can afford all that otherwise
you can get a lot of kills without being good
dual shotguns and ballistic knife + hardline pro with rc car
instant destruction
Well then it isn't unbalanced, is it? What was the point of that argument then

Have you tried the alpha? It's nothing like that.
The game would've been of higher quality if it was designed with the PC in mind.
the game was designed with money in mind.

Doesn't Valve have a bunch of free dedicated servers running for L4D?
Of course, that's Valve, they have money to burn.

It did that well, look at all the kids fapping to it.

i don't give a shit about some random over excited kids..
i'm just gonna buy it for my own entertainment.

I haven't played BC2, but in 2142 you could pretty much go from slow paced tactical gameplay to fast paced wrecking shit. One time I went as assault and went as a squad leader where I don't think I've killed more than six people, then a few rounds later I played engineer/support with a shotgun and got like five knife kills along with around two dozen regular kills, in a round later I got second place.
To me it is the best of both worlds, to the point where you don't ever need to kill anyone and can still top the scoreboards.
It has a learning curve though.
