Battlefield 3 PC Version won't have in-game server browser

This seems like something it would be very obvious PC gamers would not like, and also something that's relatively easy to work up a fix for.
What's the deal..
Fuck it, I'll just get Skyrim instead.
yes
good
good
i don't give a shit about some random over excited kids..
i'm just gonna buy it for my own entertainment.
I never said you couldn't.
im going to chalk off the reactions as overreaction but why odes it feel like some companies don't want you to by their games...
EA takes one step forward then two steps backwards.
average xbl member is 18-30
as well as the average gamer
of course kids love it, its fast, easy, and everyone plays it so theres no miscommunication
There's miscommunication when I play it, I have to mute everyone in the lobby because I can't stand listening to a kid signing Barbie or some crap.
EQ takes one step forward then two steps backwards.
and one keyboard press forward? :v:
more than half of those arent game platforms and origin isnt required to run the game
SO STOP SHITTING OUT THAT IMAGE WHEN YOU KNOW YOURE A STEAM FANBOY
You didn't read the post. "The future of PC gaming". They aren't real yet but if EA gets their way they will be.
EQA
everquest adventures?

half of those things are real but they're not digital distribs, ie the portal 2 icon, windows icon
That's not Portal 2, that's Take 2 Interactive.
good thing you can mute
or hell, good thing you can talk in it (unlike bc2)
Except we're not talking about BC2, we're talking about BF3.
half of those things are real but they're not digital distribs, ie the portal 2 icon, windows icon
that's missing the point, he was making a joke about how there might be a lot of digital distribution programs in the future (which is a bit ridiculous on it's own)
Start Bf3 through steam, and use the in game web browser to select servers. Steam 1, Origin 0.
Start Bf3 through steam, and use the in game web browser to select servers. Steam 1, Origin 0.
Start game trough Origin and use the in game web browser exactly like steam.
hes talking about mw2, ergo i reply with bc2
MW3 has around the same community as MW2, my comparison is fair.
MW3 has around the same community as MW2, my comparison is fair.
unless you're into BDSM, I don't see why you would ever want to talk to the majority of the XBL via voice

I either talk to them to troll or I end up absentmindedly keeping my mic on after a game with friends.
Day before release: "By the way, there's no mouse-keyboard support. You'll need a console controller to play."
"We also removed the exit button, so you'll need to press ctrl-alt-delete to exit the program now."
I played the alpha and the battlelog system worked fine, and about having to exit the game to join a new server the game loads up very fast so it's not a problem.
lol everyone said it would be good.
Is there some place like the EA forums where we can just get a million people to berate the shit out of these guys at EA/Origin?
I played the alpha and the battlelog system worked fine, and about having to exit the game to join a new server the game loads up very fast so it's not a problem.
Yes very fast indeed. I could join and exit 2 games in BF3 in the time it takes to join 1 BC2 game.
A while ago EA said they were giving the PC "special attention".
All they did was make the game shit for us.
Seriously though, why is DICE partnered with EA? At this point I think DICE could handle the publishing and not get literally assraped by the folks at EA. Honestly, who thought Origin would be a good idea? Oh that's right, no one. Now to cover their asses they rope in games like BF3 and Swtor and makes us the consumer deal with heaps upon heaps of shit.
Has anyone at EA even played a video game?
So now we open a browser, go to battlelog, sign in, find a server, which then opens origin which then opens BF3?
What the fuck
I am so confused here? Why are they going back on their word about supporting the PC Gaming Community? Why are they just trying their best to piss off their customers? Why in gods names does consoles have server browers but PCs dont? I am now so close to not buying this game....
bf3 will have the same community as bc2
my comparison is fair
no it isn't
BC2 on consoles had the XBL community
BC2 on PC had the PC community
BF3 will have both in their respective platforms
in other words, the community is on the platform more so than the series
in the Modern Warfare series it's the other way around, the community is more or less the same across all platforms
Why are they going back on their word about supporting the PC Gaming Community?
because it was a PR lie made to attract disgruntled PC users.
you were fooled.

This is just the modern day equivalent of luring your enemy in with a big banquet and promises of alliance, then poisoning all their food and stabbing them to death in the middle of the night.
Worked fine in the alpha. I liked being able to jump in and out of the game without having to go through the main menu. Worked great, actually.
If this was any game but Skyrim or BF3 then I would complain and probably not buy it until they changed things but the videos they released and what I played of the alpha absolutely sold me so as long as the system works fine I'm still getting it.
I mean I have to do the same thing with CoD4 where I have to exit the game and use Xfire to browse servers and as soon as I choose a server, the game pops up instantly and loads the map so it doesn't really make much difference.
"We also removed the exit button, so you'll need to press ctrl-alt-delete to exit the program now."
"Also, um, we didn't get around to an options menu so you'll have to edit the .cfg file yourself."
