Oh god, shut up. Does he have to say "You're a carrot - unless you are mentally disabled"?
Stop with the political correctness bullshit.
He's still a douche, even without the political correctness.
being mentally handicapped seems so kafkaesque to me i don't think i'd wish it upon someone ever. unless it made them so dumb they were unaware of the fact that they are... dumb. then i guess that would actually kinda be the shit.
I'd watch more news if they called people carrots more often.
Ms Evans said: "I am disgusted that he made this comment and on behalf of all the people who have tweeted, rung and emailed Mencap to say how upset they are, I think Mensa should apologise and he should engage his brain before his mouth. It seems that having a high IQ doesn't make you a sensitive or caring human being."
jesus christ, that is so hypocritically judgmental and over-dramatic
jesus christ, that is so hypocritically judgmental and over-dramatic
Next thread, "If your IQ is somewhere around 130 then you probably are an insensitive cunt"
Isn't Mensa just an organization of people pretending they're really smart?
Some elitist groups have some kind of subtle barrier but Mensa's is just so overt and basal everyone cannot just help but laugh at the obvious ego problems of whoever would actually join it... They like to think of themselves as some kind of thinktank but from what I've been told they just sit around doing crossword puzzles
It's no surprise someone from Mensa would say something this dumb
I was hoping this was an article showing that carrots have some sort of nervus system that was calculated of being capable of an IQ of 60.
reminds me of this :v:: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_perception_%28paranormal%29
"I can count to carrot"
i'm actually a potato thank you very much
I'm actually a pineapple.
It's nice being a pineapple...
If acidity is measure of intelligence, then I'm a citrus of some sort.
I took one of those dodgy online IQ tests once
I got 138
I guess that means I'm somewhere between a carrot and 3 carrots? I doubt my IQ is actually that high.

It means you're just below the "able to understand dota 2" level.
It means you're just below the "able to understand dota 2" level.
Isn't that like getting a perfect score on one of those? "Theoretically possible but not enough people in the world to be likely yet"?
I mean, maybe one day someone will be born who does understand it.
i'm actually a potato thank you very much
So you can only count to Potato?
Good thing scientists just proved that IQ is a load of bollocks and don't mean shit
No, it did not. Did you even read the study?
IQ is used, and always has been used, for the study of intelligence of large groups. That's why there's an average. It has been long since known they it is not an indicator of an individual's intelligence and the only people who ever tried to say that it was were people who scored high on the test themselves.
Good thing scientists just proved that IQ is a load of bollocks and don't mean shit
uh pretty sure if you get 60 on an IQ test you're god DAMN stupid
You're implying that he was assuming that. It's just a word.
Yeah, it's not like people use words to express ideas or anything.
Good thing scientists just proved that IQ is a load of bollocks and don't mean shit
Can someone please tell me where this is coming from?
Because throughout my school life I've heard nothing but how remarkably reliable and repeatable IQ tests are, and that the standard deviation for tests done on single individual at a given age is only 3, one hell of a long ways from a typical SD of 15 for a sample population. That means it's doing a pretty damn accurate and precise measurement of something, and considering that the scores are based on responses to general intelligence questions, then whatever's being measured is something that has a pretty good resemblance to intelligence.
I've always figured this was just bullshit spouted by people who were upset after getting disappointing IQ test results.

How ironic, turns out the quoted poster misinterpreted the study he was referring to himself. Thanks for making my night!

I was a potted plant once, I was falling through the sky and all I could think of was, "Not again."
I don't know why I thought that.
oh no...
not again....
[sp]he actually became aware of the fact by that point that he was constantly put into existence and in very short time, whatever form he came back in, would die a very abrupt, harrowing and meaningless death a short while after he came back[/sp]
People with a sub 60 IQ are nothing like carrots. They don't help your vision, and if try to eat one, everyone starts flipping the fuck out
The notion that carrots make your vision better derives from a fake rumour that the British let spread to the Axis forces in WW2 in order to cover up the invention of RADAR (the Axis forces were getting suspiscious of the fact that the British had suddenly become significantly better at gunning down German planes seemingly out of the blue). The Germans then wasted time and effort trying to get carrots into their pilots and soldiers rations in order to improve their sight and night vision.
While it's true carrots are high in vitamin A (which is linked to having healthy eye sight among other things) the effect is nowhere near as pronounced as it's made out to be, and you could probably get the same amount of vitamin A from other fruits and vegetables too.

that isn't really true; I mean sure, IQ is more useful when looking at groups than at individuals, but knowing an individual's IQ does tell you stuff about them.
I personally am very happy with my score 72 out of 100.
And if your IQ is higher than 130, you're a vegetable. Like this guy.

Well, I guess it's no surprise that you're comforted to know that since you apparently only read the title of that thread.
