Go out and put away some people who break the law, and try and deal with the ones who don't cooperate. Calling people sir and being polite doesn't work on people not willing to cooperate, and as far as the law goes, once someone is under arrest, you can use the force necessary to put them in cuffs and bring their asses to jail. But when they try, and the guy puts up a fight, and it's filmed, and some flake like Nancy Grace who of all people should know since she was an attourney gets ahold of it and puts it all over television painting the officer in a bad light even if what he did was completely justified and right, it puts pressure on the department and the officers in question to do something for the sake of PR. Face facts dude. You all rate me dumb because you're idiots and live in a fantasy world where you think being polite and courteous to criminals always works. It doesn't. I would wager to say more good officers just doing their jobs have suffered, and have absolutely been fired because of being filmed, and the public over reacting, than bad officers being caught and punished being cunts. I never said that this should or shouldn't be banned, I was just telling you all the reasoning as to WHY it's up for discussion
Big whoope-de-fucking doo, we get it, you want to be a cop. Guess what, so did I! Gasp. And I know the complications that happen in daily police work, I support the police because they do an incredibly important job in society, and we need smarter, more objective and better police in our society, not simple-minded idiots like you. Police sign up for the job, knowing the risks and difficulties that are involved. They don't need defense from morons like you who completely oversimplify the issue to make their argument seem stronger than it actually is. Being a police officer is about protecting and serving the people, and seeing justice served. It's more than just a job, it is an essential role that we need responsible persons to take up. Police brutality is an injustice and does nothing to make society better, it creates a huge divide between the citizens and their government, and makes police's job much harder in the long term. Banning citizens from photographing and recording police makes the situation, no matter its current state, much worse. There's nothing for the police to be afraid of, unless they are corrupt or just bad police, in which case it's all the more reason to support people documenting their police's methods and behavior.
