Pirates Against Anti-Piracy Laws.
singing a song on facebook is piracy how now
For what it's worth, I did my part in protesting SOPA. http://opensteamworks.org/ More websites should take part.
Guess it's no wonder we oppose this idea of stopping piracy when pirating is so easy even a child can be an actual pirate.
It's almost like the internet equivalent of J-Walking at this point really. A little worse maybe but it's something that's really easy to do and a good amount of people have probably done anyways.
Oh hey look, another one of these.
Can you really blame them, though? I mean, if they actually end up enforcing one of these bills, the internet as we know it will change for the worse. Everybody's always up-in-arms when something like this happens.
It's ridiculous that non-commercial cover songs are considered copyright infringement. Bullshit.
I doubt this is gonna pass and even if it did manage to, there would be a gigantic shitstorm over it and they would pretty quickly reverse their decision.
Yar, if I can't get me lady gaga I will have to resort to real piracy. arrrr matey
Let's hope my porn is declared constitutional <3
Pirates Against Anti-Piracy Laws.
I don't see anyone here advocating piracy, but I do see people who don't want an obtrusive bill passed that will not only affect pirates but anyone who uses the internet.
I don't see anyone here advocating piracy, but I do see people who don't want an obtrusive bill passed that will not only affects pirates but anyone who uses the internet.
Because warez is against the rules.
If this passes, first thing they should do is shutdown 4chan.
Nice one, Mozilla.
Even if you don't think it will pass, spend 60 seconds of your life and sign one of those petitions.
I'd email 2 dozen people but I'm Canadian.
the courts will probably overturn this if it's passed, cause honestly it's a violation of freedom of speech.
Oh no some grossly overpaid record executive can't afford his private jet and 20 Ferraris because people are streaming music over Youtube. What are we ever going to do?
Inb4 they try getting utorrent/bittorrent sued and they release the source code springing new clients everywhere. Piracy was around before the Internet, it's impossible to stop.
Google and Facebook. If this bill gets anywhere near getting passed, those rich, awesome people at google and facebook will throw everything at the government. EVERYTHING! They'll have the best lawyers, create rallies, God knows what. But when the rich go to battle with the other rich (Google and Facebook) shit will go down. Also, think about everyone else. The schools will go apeshit, the porn addicts, oh man, the porn addicts will go BERSERK. Everyone will go crazy. TL;DR: Too much public outcry will happen if this bill gets passed.
TL;DR: Too much public outcry will happen if this bill gets passed.
Because it violates our right to free speech. If this passes, they'll basically be able to censor whatever they want.
Weren't they supposed to vote today?
I love how they're doing this instead of fixing our economy brilliant [editline]17th November 2011[/editline] If this passes, youtube and facepunch will be gone instantly.
apparently we won need to find a source but im getting messages that we won by a slim margin
apparently we won need to find a source but im getting messages that we won by a slim margin
That slim margin makes me worry. [editline]17th November 2011[/editline] I just hate the fact that these decisions are being made by people that aren't from the generation that are using the service.

haha you make Australia look reasonable
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/10/senate-to-vote-on-net-neutrality-repeal-today-obama-counters-wi/
Nov 10th 2011 9:25AM A. This has nothing to do with SOPA B. Nov 10th 2011 9:25AM is the date of that source. [editline]17th November 2011[/editline] So earlier today I was hanging out at home playing █████ with ██████, ████, and ████████. And there was this cool reference with about ██████ and how they are trying to ████████ the ███████. But then the people of the ████████████ were like ████████ NO, on the very thing they are trying to ██████. Say no to SOPA!
I think this has relevance Pretty much all my point in the video. Except I don't agree with the whole "fuck paying for cinema and shit", 20$/€ for a blu-ray sounds like a fair price, you just have to watch what the hell you're watching. Plus, if you usually buy a blu-ray it means you want the movie in good quality, so just saying we shouldn't pay at all for movies is rather dumb.
The fact that they can close any website is worrying. Or am I misunderstanding and these are only websites in US? I guess many porn sites will be closed too since most of them also stream pirated content. Youtube will be in deep shit too either because of all the pirated content or because of no content when all of it gets removed. I love how the name is to stop online piracy, but offline one is ok. OKay guys, stock up on DVDs and some mail stamps, we're opening snail mail trackers :v: The rules of P2P would be simple, if you receive a cd, you have to copy it and send it to someone else. In a community with no leechers that's a good plan.
