Eagle Nebula [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kG6ME.jpg[/thumb] Soul Nebula [thumb]http://www.stern-fan.de/Bilder/Bilder-Galerie/Deep-Sky/IC1848-HST-2000.jpg[/thumb] Antennae Galaxies [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UuHtk.jpg[/thumb] I'd really like to see the pictures as seen by the naked eye (if one was in space), not enhanced by effects or so. Same for those pictures taken from forests of the milky way/ auroras etc
I wonder what would happen if we took the light from the stars and converted it to sound by squishing the frequency range to match what human ears can hear? And you could have a program that lets you fly a camera through the stars in a 3-D map of space, listening to galaxies and other space objects.

If anything, you're seeing the universe as it REALLY is in these photos, not just the tiny sliver of it that we can perceive with our eyes.
[QUOTE=Jocke;38927940]It's only an illusion, the government has lied to you all the time[/QUOTE] Lied about what?

Can't remember the name though.

There was another picture of a Helix Nebula (infrared photo) [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/DN8xp.jpg[/thumb] Perhaps your right.

Then maybe we won't feel the same irrational connection to the visible light spectrum and will let ourselves enjoy these sights for what they are instead of getting upset at what we think they're not.
[IMG]http://news.mst.edu/800px-ORION_NEBULAE.jpg[/IMG] Orion nebula (as seen by the eye) And another one to show the difference / effect: [img]https://lh3.ggpht.com/-in8xKDFs1zI/TeeTXLIBebI/AAAAAAAAGGg/OAso1VkxUmQ/s1600/North_America_Nebula.jpg[/img]
It's just amazing. A new place for human kind to explore and see, I look forward to see what we achieve in years to come. Its amazing!
