Has Adam Sandler ever made something that wasn't in bad taste?
The Wedding Singer. Happy Gilmore. In fact, I'd say that's the best film he's ever made.
Has any other studio ever had as many critically panned films?
Boll KG.
I remember the 90s when Sandler was at least a bit funnier, he was no Jim Carrey but Little Nicki, Big Daddy, and Water boy were pretty funny. But I was also like 9 then so what do I know.
Boll KG.
I don't think that even Uwe Boll is this aggressively bad.
This would further racist stereotypes and a negative outlook on Native Americans. People wouldn't laugh to sympathize with them, but rather laugh at how stupid and archaic they look in this movie if at all. Peeing while smoking a pipe is incredibly unfunny.
oh man reading through this thread, I love facepunch and all of its users, you all are so fucking on point. this was a good nights end, fuck adam sandler.
He's working on another movie? I thought he was busy with that videogame abomination thing.
Mate he made a deal with Netflix to make something like 3 or 4 movies for them, for some reason they thought it was a great idea.
Except Blazing Saddles was actually funny.
and wasn't dumb as a sack of bricks, either.
Watch RLM's Jack and Jill review, particularly the second part.
Those two videos were great and gave some really solid insight.
Except Blazing Saddles was actually funny.
how they properly executed a native american joke.
It's also worth checking out RLM's review of Paul Blart: Mall Blart 2. They don't tear into it as heavily as Jack and Jill, but they expand on many of the same points.
'If you guys are so sensitive, you should leave,'
And I don't want to watch your guys' shitty movie, so I won't.
So when is he going to realize he became a parody of himself and just retire or something? This is getting embarrassing for him. Cringely embarrassing
I feel bad when my mom sees the coming soon ads on tv, particularly for Jack and Jill and Mall Cop 2 and says "oh hey this sounds funny". She just says it because fart joke here and there and adam sandler. Then I think "maybe I'm overreacting", but the imdb scores of less than half tell me otherwise. Then I think "maybe I'm being biased and being led on"... But then I look at the godawful cringeworthy unfunny trailers full of one-tonned laugh jokes and just wonder: why do people like this crap??
Airplanes pay for him to make these movies so they can use them on flights to make the passengers wish for death's sweet embrace so they dont mind being in constant pain from their seats.
im not a huge fan of adam sandler anyways, he's like will smith, both are over the hump and producing garbage right now, but i don't see sandler recovering his career any time soon [editline]24th April 2015[/editline]
how they properly executed a native american joke.
mel brooks has always had a great knack for striding that line of funny, stereotypical, and not intentionally offensive. which is how we get some of the greatest spoofs like the musical number "jews in space" [editline]24th April 2015[/editline]
Adam Sandler and his friends in crime are the definition of societal cancer in America.
ya its weird, like steve buscemi has been in how many of sandler's movies, but i never liked him until he did boardwalk empire when i realised he not only can act, but he was amazing
I sometimes wonder if Happy Madison Productions is some kind of embezzlement scheme, or worse. I would not put it past Adam Sandler to be doing a bit of dishonest business.
I dont think they hide it. Jack and Jill was some of the most blatant advertisement in any movie, with an insane budget, and HORRIBLE quality.
im not a huge fan of adam sandler anyways, he's like will smith, both are over the hump and producing garbage right now, but i don't see sandler recovering his career any time soon
at least will smith actually did a lot of introspection after realizing how scummy the reasons behind After Earth were, as both a film and a personal move with his son. adam sandler is just a straight up con-man and he knows it
Except Blazing Saddles was actually funny.
Brooks himself once said that it would be impossible to release a film like Blazing Saddles in today's world, it would've offended too many people.
it's ok guys, they're only satirizing racism
so why is this ok if charlie hebdo does this
so why is this ok if charlie hebdo does this
Adam Sandler is incredibly lazy and low brow with it and isnt a political cartoonist, hes a complete hack. Adam Sandlers is "Mexican guy is lazy and illegal"
I don't know, showing drawings of stuff shoved up the prophets ass was a bit over the line..…..
Adam Sandler and the whole Happy Madison company is like seeing a real life and multi-decade long running version of the plot of The Producers.
Worst part is, people will still fucking pay money to watch the crap that he churns out
Worst part is, people will still fucking pay money to watch the crap that he churns out
He can't turn it out if there aren't enough actors.
Mate he made a deal with Netflix to make something like 3 or 4 movies for them, for some reason they thought it was a great idea.
to be honest at least 45% of my usage of Netflix is watching the shittest films I can find with my friends. Netflix are probably aware of that demographic of people and know this will bring in both that demographic and the demographic of people who genuinely enjoy Adam Sandler films. His films are far more suited to a platform like Netflix than they are to widespread theatre release for that reason
He can't turn it out if there aren't enough actors.
They got Johnny Depp to play a Native American, they could probably just get him to play all of them in this movie if not that he'd probably shoot it down for being terrible.
I dont think you can really watch bad comedy ironically.
I've done it countless times
To be honest I think someone needs to go up to Adam Sandler and punch him in the face.
