Here's how Modern Warfare 2 looked for me.
After finishing Cod 4: CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL!
After playing World at war: That was horrible. Infinity ward's game will be a welcome relief from that bullshit.
After seeing the teaser: Wow looks promising.
After seeing the E3 demo: Holy crap! I've got to get this!
After finding out I can't get the special editions: Well that kind of sucks, but it looks good.
After finding out it'll cost £50 for pc: What the fuck? Well that's a bit steep.
After finding out blockbuster are charging £70 for it: Fuck that's too much.
After finding out there'll be shit-all DLC: Well fuck this game.
Congratulations, Activision, you've successfully un-sold your game to me.

Yeah, but the fact that they've managed to un-hype a game for many people is just bullshit.
It makes me sad that it'll still do insanely well because it'll be on every whiny rich white kid in America's Christmas list.
Only people that care about these map packs are whiny nerds. Which is in fact, the minority. There will be plenty of casual CoD players and rowdy college guys buying this.

Well that is that. Not getting this game, probably not getting any other Call of Duty games again if they don't start respecting PC users, drop their prices for a mediocre game, and don't be so fucking greedy.
Good job, I bought Call of Duty 1, 2, 3, and Modern Warfare. World at War and Modern Warfare 2 just aren't worth my money.
This is purely from the two map packs viewpoint, not taking in the other things Activision has done in the past.
This is kind of like that argument against L4D2. People don't want to shell out money for something that's announced saying it's not worth it, without knowing how much content is in it, the pricing, etc. DLC for GTA IV was announced in 2006, 2 years before GTA IV was released. They said it was going to be "epic" but of course that was just Microsoft's word. And TLAD was pretty epic.
Now taking all the other news into consideration, this is pretty dumb. It's not unhyped the game for me, but why the hell would Activision announce DLC before the release of a game. Are they stupid, or just overconfident that anything they poop out with the MW2 title on it will be eaten up by the fans? And with all the other recent news I'd think they'd realize that this just looks like money grab after money grab, which it kind of is.
What I really don't understand is why they didn't include the special editions for PC and raised the price to $60? Is there something they're not telling us or do they think the modding community will make that extra $10 worth it.
What I don't get is why are they even talking about DLC for a game that hasn't even been released?
This is something Capcom would do.

When TF2 was out they said they were gonna release maps too but they weren't DONE when the game was released.

No, Infinity Ward does a good job of everything. Most of the bugs encountered in the game are caused by PB, which naturally sucks ass, and which also was put in most likely by the decision of Activision. It's like EA and Dice with Battlefield 2. It was a game with massive potential, but EA fucked over DICE and ended buying them anyway. If Activision buys Infinity Ward, many people will flip shit.
Well due to the price of this being off the fucking chain, I doubt this'll be my Christmas buy, but with Bioshock 2 delayed, there's no other AAA titles coming in Winter :gonk:

He thinks we're raising hell all because of the map pack, when in truth there's much more than just this silly little announcement, such as the price raise and the release date exclusivity with the mappacks to the consoles. Not to mention the lack of the special editions for PC, but I think that this is an option that most people could go without.
