I didn't see a single thing on sale in my local game in the PC section, the 3 for £10 and 2 for £15 sections were both the exact same as they had always been.
I bought a Gameware PC game controller. Works pretty nice.
Their domain name, www.game.co.uk, must fetch a pretty penny.
So you want hundreds of people to lose their jobs?
I don't really care, but if it means Game fucks off for good then yeah sure?
Any place that guts games and sells them as "new" can fuck off.
Any place that guts games and sells them as "new" can fuck off.
Guts them?
Their domain name, www.game.co.uk, must fetch a pretty penny.
I'm sure I remember them having some shitty domain like gameuk.com until 2007ish
Guts them?
Shop worker term for opening the actual games and removing the CD storing it in drawers behind the counter etc.
I've heard that employees of Game/Gamestation are told to offer a used copy at the point of sale so they squeeze a bit more cash from it.
Shop worker term for opening the actual games and removing the CD storing it in drawers behind the counter etc.
What's wrong with this?
They still stock Fallen Earth for £20 which is now free to play...
Are you serious? Game is the cause of so many problems, I personally hope they go bankrupt from this.
My brother could be losing his job because of this you asshole.
i find it amusing that they managed to get their stock price to drop from 300 in 2008, all the way to the rockbottom price of 3.51. a+ company
Shop worker term for opening the actual games and removing the CD storing it in drawers behind the counter etc.
There's nothing wrong with this, it's better than putting them in plastic boxes with alarms and shit on them.
I bought a Gameware PC game controller. Works pretty nice.
Oh? How much was that? I'm looking for a new one, My 2nd stick is not registering "up" properly.
My local EB games store has a huge amount of PC games, but the new releases cost $100 which is bullshit.
Any place that guts games and sells them as "new" can fuck off.
Yeah, let's leave them in the boxes on the shelf, totally won't attract thieves.
I can feel my job circling the drain

I feel bad for the guys at my local branch, they're all really nice and some of them are my friends.
Might be worth dropping in after work tomorrow not sure how their pc stock is though, I last went in around 2008 and the staff couldn't find me a copy of "Mars Effect"
I used to love visiting Game as a kid and picked up quite a few classics there such as Dark Forces, X-Wing, and SimCity 2000 I've moved to mainly digital distribution and ordering online from the cheapest supplier now though especially for PC games which seem to be disappearing more and more. If they do get bought by someone, they're gonna face a challenge in a year or two when the second hand console game market is likely to be destroyed by single console registration for "premium" features like... as we've seen with Ubisoft on PC... opening the game you've bought
Still not worth it.
Although it's a shame to see these people lose their jobs, I'm glad that the business itself is closing down. With the way distribution has changed over the years, GAME has become incredibly outdated. Their prices are insultingly high, their pre-owned game prices are insultingly high, the amount of money they give you for your game is insultingly low, etc. It's hard to compete with prices you can get from websites like Amazon and Play.
I'll buy it! I have a fiver How much do they want
I've set up stock and price alerts on PS3s, I wanna get one super cheap like the £99 one.
GAME sounds like the UK/European version of GameStop.
GAME sounds like the UK/European version of GameStop.
It is. And I hope to all fuck that GameStop doesn't buy them out because in comparison, GAME is actually half decent going by the stories I've heard.
I hope no one buys it. But knowing it, someone will.
I've set up stock and price alerts on PS3s, I wanna get one super cheap like the £99 one.
How?
there's a special place waiting in hell for GAME, i hope they get there soon.
