MIT student Stephan Boyer has built his own electrical uni-ride, which he's dubbing the "Bullet." The single-wheel transporter packs a custom MIG-welded steel body, two 7Ah 12-volt batteries, an ATmega328 chip and a 450-watt electric motor. While the Bullet isn't the speediest of solowheel demons (15mph max), it's on par with its $25,000 Ryno Motors counterpart. As far as power efficiency, the Bullet can go up to five miles on a single charge -- more than enough juice to hit a few classroom round-trips. There's some "Learning to Ride" tips from the creator himself at the source link, but in the meantime you can watch this unified purple rider in action after the break. an MIT scholar that rides an electric unicycle that he built himself? he's beating the ladies away with a stick
Everyone knows that unicycles are ~swag~ as fuck
Goddamn, I want one. Of course, I'll probably break my skull open the first few yards.
he's beating the ladies away with a stick
Actually he's making the ladies ride his thing.
neeeerrrrd i want one, he should start a production line
Ok this shit is amazing. I might build one for getting around the city and the university. It looks like one could take it into the subway with no problem.
whatever happened to the Honda or whatever unicycle that looked like it came out of I, Robot and did a similar auto-balancing thing
Make it cooler, replace the tire with a tread.
He should add hydraulics to it next.
Actually he's making the ladies ride his thing.
"wanna ride on my lap?"
I remember watching a video about these in the Videos section a few months back, uses something like two gyroscopes and the act of leaning to gauge turning and speed. It really is quite genius, I figure anyone with half a sense of balance can master one of these in an afternoon.
"wanna ride on my lap?"
"But you're standing up"
If I had one I would wear it with a gown long enough to cover the whole thing.
If I had one I would wear it with a gown long enough to cover the whole thing.
Paint it light purple and go zooming around downtown
Because using your feet is too mainstream. Kickass thingy though. Edit: In case of a zombie apocalypse, that would be the perfect vehicle for cruising around town.
an MIT scholar that rides an electric unicycle that he built himself? he's beating the ladies away with a stick
Because ladies is the most important thing in life and people should rather do "cool and socially acceptable" things instead of the things they actually enjoy, right?
Because ladies is the most important thing in life and people should rather do "cool and socially acceptable" things instead of the things they actually enjoy, right?
Massive sense of humour failure detected.
Serious today are we?
Shit gets stale when you see it over and over. A text meme is still a meme.
Shit gets stale when you see it over and over. A text meme is still a meme.
It's not a meme.
The shirtless guys body though... omfg I want him.
Awesome, now if he makes an automatic juggling machine, he's set.
Skill Level: Asian
It's not a meme.
Might aswell be
Doesn't say how much it cost to make.
"wanna ride on my lap?"
I'd name the thing dick so I could ask them if they wanna ride my dick.
Hmmm, this kinda reminds me of a Segway, only smaller and faster. Oh, and you probably don't need to lean forward like Segways do.
Hmmm, this kinda reminds me of a Segway, only smaller and faster. Oh, and you probably don't need to lean forward like Segways do.
And unlike a segway, you can ride this thing without looking like a total dumbass.
Because ladies is the most important thing in life and people should rather do "cool and socially acceptable" things instead of the things they actually enjoy, right?
wow somebody was holding in some negativity for a while you want to talk about it?
