Not entirely suprised by this, but still think that the Aussie ratings board are fucking retarded.
Could somebody also please tell me if Steam has some sort of way of enforcing censorships, and explain how this works? I assume it is more sophisticated than just limiting what can be downloaded and installed in reference to what country was assigned to your Steam account.
Steam just won't list a game if it's unavailable in your region. However, if you use a program to mask your ID, then visit the US Steam store (or any region that allows the game you want), you can make the purchase and it will be added to your account. Alternatively, you can get someone to gift it to you. Anyone know if this game will be on Steam?
Luke;18743164'] Whats the extra "S" for? United Sexy States of America?
The "United Socialist States of Australia", is what I was going for... See, it's a joke where I liken Ausland to Yankland, but also communism, with their Chinese-ish internet filters! Not really a "hah hah" joke, I guess [editline]04:13AM[/editline] It was a bit of a stretch to assume people would pick up on that, sort of see what I was doing there, and suchlike
ALRIGHT Must get that game now.
They are right to do so, just imagine kids seeing an alien slicing off a human head with their hands, imagine how they would immediately turn into hideous creatures of the dark and do exactly the same stuff with their bare hands because that is exactly what would happen. OMG Australia NO1.
*aHEM* Are you talking about yourself?
Whats the extra "S" for? United Sexy States of America?
United Sosialistic States of America.
Maybe this banning is good for them. But it just makes me want the game more.
Personally all that violence is just excessive, people don't need to see that
Is it being sold on steam? if so, no biggie for us aussies
The cool kids anyway. This mostly just stops the dumb obnoxious kids that get their parents to buy it from retail channels. I'll be happily playing it down under upon release.
Personally all that violence is just excessive, people don't need to see that
What about the people who want to? Do they just have to deal with it because of one retarded politician who blindly defends a shitty rating system which doesn't do what its supposedly meant to do and still pisses people who are over 18?
Luke;18743164']If germany DID release a censored version, when you rip someones head off with the spinal cord attatched, it will be what looks like a pumpkin with rope attatched, and it would look like they just put their head inside their shirts (for the decapitated humans) [editline]10:04AM[/editline] /sarcasm [editline]10:05AM[/editline] Whats the extra "S" for? United Sexy States of America? [editline]10:08AM[/editline] To be honest if that was me, i would spam grenades everywhere if i found a dead body, and i mean EVERYWHERE. I'd at least kill the Alien or Predator....twice...
wwow youre dumb
Wow I did not know this. Thank you for informing me
Game sounds awesome
I was watching a program called Hungry Beast. They showed some old fart politician playing some crap Wii game. He mentioned that a study based around gaming Wii games help coordination and the players actually gain skills and all this other dour shit. Strangely he didn't mention another major point of this study; the part that explained that 98% of people surveyed were for the creation of a 18+ rating. Funny man.
Our government will hands down let you join the army, causing you to risk your own life when you're sent to a war torn country and yet won't even let us play a virtual game? :geno: Yeah, I don't see the logic in that.
. It seems logical.
