The KKK essentially was founded and consists of by the redneck-hillbilly types if I'm not mistaken. Those type of people are the ultra-nationalist, super patriotic warmongers. Of course they're going to protest people protesting soldiers fighting in a war.

There is a bit of confusion because there have been three KKK movements. Right now the group exists. I think they would be considered the 4th resurgence and they are pretty small. I'm not sure if they are violent, but they are considered a terrorist group.

The thing is, most groups of the KKK right now don't actually do much. They have rallies, talk about shit, but few of them even do the intimidation thing anymore. It's kinda pathetic actually, especially since they used to be pretty dangerous.
Yes, there are still a few that do nasty stuff, but I think it's been years since any of them did anything. The FBI takes a rather dim view on lynchings, and you do not mess with that part of the FBI.
