Will it be like Moonbase Alpha?
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I had a dream like this a couple of months ago where there was this videogame that played a lot like GTA but covered the entire world. In it I walked to my house to see me playing the same game.
The closer we are to simulating a whole world, the higher the probability we are living in a simulation.
Could be instrumental in developing artificial intelligence. Even if it's just 1% as complex as the real world, putting an artificial cell in that system and watching it evolve and gain intelligence could create the kinds of robot dogs and cyborg people that science fiction has been promising for a century.
Oh shit what if we're just computer programs in a manner similar to this project :psyduck:
will it be like moonbase alpha?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Skynet 1.0

But the other way around.
While we're at it we should get it to calculate the answer to life, the universe and everything.
Can't be 42, that's silly.
It's funny, because in 50 years, we'll all be playing MMO's many times more powerful and advanced than this.
But i'll be 70 years old by then! :crying:
I'll be the architect.
make it into an mmo
but if we all know about the future then we can change our action and choose another one different from the one the prediction made meaning that the prediction was wrong, am I right?
maybe it'd be like that's so raven
Can a LES simulated computer run Crysis?

Bacon! Bacon! Bacon! Bacoon! Bacon? Bacoon! Bacoon!
And this was the start of the greatest game engine ever created..
The rest of the universe would create small inconsistencies which over time could make a big difference.
They should have it replicate the exact movement of every single particle in the universe. Just to be thorough.

aeiou
So uh what's the point? Sure it would be an amazing feat to simulate the world but what would the actual use be?
It's funny, because in 50 years, we'll all be playing MMO's many times more powerful and advanced than this.
Well, uh... No. I really doubt it.

Speed it up to see how X affects Y.
I wonder if it can simulate the death of the American Dream.

Why simulate what has already happened?
japan already have a few of these
To calculate Googleplexes of molecules at once on a global scale would require a computer that is impossible right now. Even on an absurdly fast computer, just calculating 1 millisecond of that kind of simulation could take decades.
They aren't going to simulate every molecule.
If we can simulate, we may be able to avoid possible socio-economic detriments.

John Madden!!!
This whole thing reminds me of The Matrix, I'm surprised no one posted about it yet but again most of you might not even have seen it.

Look on the last post of the first page.
But some people believe that we are just a simulation. So would that be a simulation within a simulation? ...And the cycle begins once more.

I tell those people they're stupid and paranoid
I tell those people they're stupid and paranoid
But then they'll accuse us of working for the machine.
now all we need is a computer - brain interface, which is why I'm aiming to become a neuroscientist so I can make that shit a reality, FOR THE GOOD OF SCIENCE! :science:
