Depends on what your reasons are.
People including myself likes them because of the cosmetic design and battery life, but paying hundreds to thousands of dollars more for the hardware is totally not worth it.
The only computer I'd be willing to get from Apple would be the high-end 15" Macbook Pro. It's got nice hardware, nice exterior, and good battery life. All-around solid machine, but then they set the price at $2,200 and my thought was instantly, "fuck that."

Even if they were number one, the combined sales of all non-Apple PC's would greatly outnumber the amount of MacBook and iMac products sold.

Does anyone else think that these statistics are pretty skewed considering a tonne of people build their own? Even people who don't build their own might have their local IT professional build them one, a friend of mine does this for tonnes of people.

The marketing director at the place I work uses a Mac, and she does some pretty awesome things with the software on there to help advertise our events.
It's useful for people who want it, and I don't get why everyone hates on them so much, when it doesn't affect them to begin with.
