am i still an idiot if i plan on buying apple hardware and running windows
Depends on what your reasons are. People including myself likes them because of the cosmetic design and battery life, but paying hundreds to thousands of dollars more for the hardware is totally not worth it.
The only computer I'd be willing to get from Apple would be the high-end 15" Macbook Pro. It's got nice hardware, nice exterior, and good battery life. All-around solid machine, but then they set the price at $2,200 and my thought was instantly, "fuck that."
Chill your tits, everyone. Even if they were number one, the combined sales of all non-Apple PC's would greatly outnumber the amount of MacBook and iMac products sold.
Kinda reminds me of how COD is slowly killing gaming.
And the hipsters rejoiced
It's such a shame their computers are crap. It's really only the illiterates who buy them. Take a look at Finalcut X. It doesn't even have the features that professionals need, professional grade products my arse. The failure rate on their hardware is rather high too.
No one in the industry uses anything other than premier, avid, and a handful of other smaller products for film editing. Apple shouldn't boast it as "Professional"

I always laugh at the little kids rubbing their cheeks all over the iMac section at my local best buy. I walk by that section without giving it a glance.
Custom-built-by-hand master race
Wait What? Since when does Apple make PCs? Apple computers aren't considered PCs, did the article writer ever see the "Hi I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" commercials? Apple doesn't even consider their products to be PCs; they view their products as occupying their own unique niche.
pc = personal computer I think macs fall under that description
Does anyone else think that these statistics are pretty skewed considering a tonne of people build their own? Even people who don't build their own might have their local IT professional build them one, a friend of mine does this for tonnes of people.

Reppin' HP bitches. For now until I get my new build...
I hate when people at my school want a laptop they instantly try to buy macbooks, when I asked why they wanted it their answer is simply because it is a mac.
Screw Steve Jobs for dumbing down society.
Meh, I like Unix compatibility of Macs. Never buy one though.
Screw Steve Jobs for dumbing down society.
Just got a similar laptop for 500 dollars. And yes, it's a Dell.
Just got a similar laptop for 500 dollars. And yes, it's a Dell.
Nothing wrong with dells unless you treat your computer like shit. My inspiron 1720 is brilliant, for what I do with it anyway.
The only thing I like from Apple are their iPods, iPhones, and iPads, everything else by them can do burn in hell. I've used Macs in school and shit and they just slow me down so fucking much, I even know the OS well. I can do everything faster on a Windows computer.

lol just buy from apple refurb its the same quality as new for less dosh just keep in mind how expensive billet aluminum manufacturing is, oh and they use rather large and pricey batteries (except for the macbook air which is shit) [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] apple desktops are crap but their laptops are ok if you know what your buying and where
This really doesn't surprise me. So many people I know would go Apple Mac over Windows any day of the week.
i find it interesting how we'll post apple news just so we can hate humans, those damn humans with their humanoid machines and humanoid faces. i hate them so much i'm going to post about apple and how much they are bad. "fuck apple i hate them because people i don't like that only exist in my mind use them" as they slowly descend into their schizophrenic deranged state of mind. soon they'll see steve jobs in their halls haunting them and whispering "WITH THE NEW UPDATE WE'VE ADDED" as they scream and scream. let's face it, if you hate people who use apple computers, you probably hate people who use other random things too like a brand of butter or a certain car, which means you'll also probably die as a hate filled person who with his last dying breath tells his son "DON'T MARRY A MAC USER" as his ex-wife is fawning over him with will papers. hello i'm a human, a waste of space and an argument against the existence of intelligent design.
It's really only the illiterates who buy them.
i don't really think that's true, im sure people who work in the music and film industry are capable of reading. i might be wrong though maybe they all use Text-To-Speech
Macs are alright. They run Unix. Unix is good. We need more Unix. They're not expensive if you aren't living in your mom's basement.
Then don't buy one and stop complaining when other people choose to spend their money on a Mac.
is price really relevant when it comes to computers you can say macintoshs are over-priced, but all computers are over-priced unless you buy them at auctions for 25$ like I do i can't afford plasma screen tv's, but i've learned to cope with it and thus i won't go ranting against plasma owners as fucking scumbags abusing ionized gas maybe i'll form the Ionized Gas Liberation Front and convert people to a world of liquid crystal because people who use ionized gas for their perverted watching needs are sick individuals that need to be educated
i don't really think that's true, im sure people who work in the music and film industry are capable of reading. i might be wrong though maybe they all use Text-To-Speech
The marketing director at the place I work uses a Mac, and she does some pretty awesome things with the software on there to help advertise our events. It's useful for people who want it, and I don't get why everyone hates on them so much, when it doesn't affect them to begin with. It's like common sense is vacating the world.
