If you want to give away a game you donated $1 for buy the game at full price to give.
Then it's failed.
Not buying the bundles now, oh well.
Not for cheap games and charity?
You could always use Bundle Stars if you want to gift some games that you already own to your friends (Cannot pay $1 though) http://www.bundlestars.com
rip bundles that include steam keys for me then I guess. Unless they include some really cool games I don't have. Probably gonna be a case by case thing. [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] btw, I've always paid more than the average for every bundle I've bought.
They should just raise the donation floor IMO.
They should just raise the donation floor IMO.
That defeats the purpose of "pay what you want".
Even though this kind of sucks, I can't really be upset with HiB for doing this. People have been abusing the system for quite a while and if this does end up helping combat that, I can't fault them for it. I honestly think that if this makes you stop getting bundles entirely you're being quite silly. Even if there's only one game in the entire bundle you're interested in and don't already have, you can't exactly say you aren't getting your money's worth when you paid a dollar for it.

However, instead of being stuck with Keys I will can't use (because I already own the game) I always gift them to friends as a nice little surprise. Now you can't do that.
They did it probably cause people sell keys for 1 dollar per key, gaining about 4 buck per bundle profit.
They did it probably cause people sell keys for 1 dollar per key, gaining about 4 buck per bundle profit.
You can still sell a bundle at a marked up price. Not buying your keys anymore then. Good job.
Don't care. Still getting dirt-cheap games for both me and my friends.
That defeats the purpose of "pay what you want".
Aren't they already floored at 1 dollar? If they raise the minimum donation to say, 5 dollars people could still pay what they want. Besides, doesn't restricting game keys kind of defeat the purpose of "gift to your friends"?
Besides, doesn't restricting game keys kind of defeat the purpose of "gift to your friends"?
Not at all since you can buy a gift bundle
Not buying the bundles now, oh well.

Not buying your keys anymore then. Good job.
Enjoy your full-priced games, then. I'll be over here still saving 90-95% if you need me.
I think this is a good example of gamer entitlement. You can buy the games for a dollar (or more if you want the above-the-average ones.) Just buy them a bundle if you wanna give the games to them so bad. also it's charity lmfao

Personally I have no incentive if I'm paying 5 dollars for one game that I don't have that I could get cheaper on a Steam sale.
They should just raise the donation floor IMO.
That would reduce the quantity purchased and take away from the whole "Pay what you want" idea. Lots of people buying also helps spread the Bundle around.
That would reduce the quantity purchased and take away from the whole "Pay what you want" idea. It seems they have re-added gifting:
It seems they have re-added gifting:
Very happy about this. On that note, if you want FEAR 2/FEAR 3 then comment on my profile. [editline]f[/editline] For free, OFC.
The new system of gifting is better for everyone. We do not need to enter keys into steam (it does it for us) and we can send keys to anyone. It is good for humble support and devs because there is now a paper trail in case they need to revoke keys if payment is removed.
lmao "OH MY GOD I CAN't BELIEVE THESE DOUCHEBAGS GIVING GAMES AWAY AT RIDICULOUSLY LOW PRICES AND GIVING THE MONEY TO CHARITY WON'T LET ME GIFT INDIVIDUAL GAMES TO FRIENDS, ONLY WHOLE PACKS. ALL HAIL OUR EVIL CAPITALIST HUMBLE OVERLORDS" "we're sorry you guys didn't like that, here's a cleaner, legitimized system for gifting individual games even if you purchased the bundle for yourself" feel shame
Oh nice, I regretted missing the steamworks sale for Arkham Asylum but this is way better.
