It's quite ironic, everybody gets anticipated over a new Walking Dead episode (game too) but with Overkill nobody gives a shit because they know it's either going to be a duped mission or perhaps some new Gage Dubstep Gun #2 dlc you have to pay for.
if they told us they were releasing a TWD game, and not had this shitty advertisement idea, maybe there would've been more of a shit given
or at creating ARGs
Oh my god Almir needs to be fired. "STOP LOOKING THROUGH OUR GAME CODE, YES WE KNOW EVERY OTHER GAME BASED ARG HAS PEOPLE LOOKING THROUGH THE CODE"
"HAHAHAH YOU'RE NOT SOLVING OUR ARG QUICKLY"
Okay. So the countdown for this was announced through the Payday 2 Steam group, on a countdown that ended on the first anniversary of Payday 2's release, and was set in DC and the radio countdown campaign thing used references to characters from Payday 2.
Perhaps they tie in together.
They will, from their Q&A page
Q: I’m a PAYDAY 2 heister - how does this affect me?
A: PAYDAY 2 and OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead are two separate games - but, in true OVERKILL spirit, we’ll make some unprecedented crossovers. When Washington falls, what will Dallas do?
A: PAYDAY 2 and OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead are two separate games - but, in true OVERKILL spirit, we’ll make some unprecedented crossovers. When Washington falls, what will Dallas do? If you own PAYDAY 2, you can answer this question in OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead.
Does this mean Left 4 Dead takes place in The Walking Dead universe, since, well, that one heist in Payday 1?
[sp] I know it doesn't [/sp]

The other thing is that this announcement is actually four levels of waiting deep.
First there was the "TOMORROW" announcement, then the "NOW" announcement, then the 35 day wait, and now the wait to 2016.
I mean, jesus.
and they're going to have it run on diesel engine too
gg overkill
and they're going to have it run on diesel engine too

Please no, Payday 2 is already a clusterfuck in netcode and performance.
during the 35 days, nothing walking dead related was told, nothing interesting happened
they could've just released the reveal along with the NOW.
Can't wait for the weapon dlc packs, so hype to see half the gun options blacked out with a big red DLC label on it.
Even with the teams experience it will probably be as bad, if not WORSE than how I've heard TWD: Survival Instinct was.
EDIT: While I am far from a fan of TWD, it just doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd make an apparent shooter out of. Only reason I'm saying what I'm saying.

It would have made sense to announce it for Gamescom. They already went to E3 for the Big Bank of all things.
i'm kind of wary of this because the only TWD game that hasn't sucked shit was TellTale's, they may give you the illusion of "choice" but they don't go around promising the impossible.
Thank god. I hated the story teller point-and-click bullshit.
uh oh looks like you got swarmed by the fanboys
I guessed zombies, but not walking dead...I hope it doesn't suck.
Guys, the thermal drill. Go get it
God, someone sent me the link with "Overkill's The Walking Dead" and I thought it was just a joke.
Ready to grind those zombies?
I can't wait to use a hundred bullets to put down a single enemy.
The worst damage control ever is already in effect.
would anyone like me to predict the release date of this game too
Oh boy... more Walking Dead games.
Can't wait to see how it has nothing in common with its source material except for the name and zombies being in it.
Even without Goldfarb OVK maintains some of the worst PR in the industry.
I'm interested in this but I seriously hope it's an open world survival kinda thing not something like L4D2, I got tired of that after playing 2 or 3 campaigns and then the game just sits there in your steam library.

I can't wait to unlock the DLC bullshit with lua
really
you trust ovk of all people to handle this

Holy shit.
They've made so much money from Payday 2, why can't they just license a real fuckin' engine?

Seriously, Unity is $1500 with zero royalties and it's infinitely better. Hell, it's up there with (arguably above) CryEngine and Unreal Engine.
I'll be someone else to say it:
What will this do that Left 4 Dead didn't? When I hear co-op Walking Dead, I'm gonna assume Left 4 Dead.
will it come with weapon dlc? mask dlc?
