OVERKILL (Payday) is making a co-op Walking Dead game

The Walking Dead has always been about great characters, tough decisions, nobody being safe from death etc. How will any of that fit into a co-operative shooter? I hope it's nothing like Payday, and we don't just take on hordes of (really slow) zombies.

oh hey
reusable content
uh oh looks like you got swarmed by the fanboys
i dont even like TWD and i think the point and clicking is fine.
So Payday was Left 4 Dead with bank robbing
this is.....
It's L4D but every time you kill a zombie you have to have a breakdown where you contemplate the ethical ramifications of your choices.
I'm very skeptical about this. TWD fits more as Telltale's game, and I don't think generic four-person fps would do justice.
So I guess it's just going to be a sort of L4D ish game? I don't think Overkill does narrative based games.

Seems very odd to choose Walking Dead as the "host" then, given that Walking Dead is generally lauded for its characters, writing, interactions, etc (whatever you think of the above)...not action.

I was expecting it. I know a lot of people like it, but i just got bored right after i got to that farm. I also didn't like the Back to the Future one though it took longer to get bored due to the amount of history embedded.
It felt very slow paced for me and i wanted aim and shoot stuff instead of "press X to shoot zombie in the head and win". I don't like telltale's games overall, though i'm looking forward to the Game of Thrones one.
Why.
Wow, can't wait for this to come out fo-
wait, the Payday 2 people are helping making this?
k another game into the trash
Man Payday 2 had such great potential. Why don't they keep working on that?
We better be able to play with more than 4 people.

Wrong answer.

But, thanks for playing.
God damn you guys were sucking Payday's dick before it released and now you all hate it.
Its not even a bad game.
Please for the love of god don't let this be a repeat of survival instinct.
This has the potential to be really good, please don't fuck it up.

Maybe it has something to do with them just forcefully stuffing the dick so far down our collective throats with dlc.

You know how hype works.
Most of us have gotten bored over how repetitive and grindy it is.
Why does every zombie-survival as of recent use TWD as their name? They almost never follow TWD plot or characters, I don't see the point in it. Like, the only thing in common is that there's zombies.

"Before it released" are the key words here, nobody had played it yet. Overkill told us there would be a lot more content than there really is. The gameplay tears you in multiple directions, it's been updated with needless difficulty ramps, there's a shitload of DLC, almost everything's unbalanced, bag throwing isn't fun etc. There's a lot of fun to be had with Payday 2 but Overkill can be pretty shoddy and have made numerous failings both with the game and with their terrible PR.

I know there's Survival Instinct, but is there anything else?
Q: I’m a PAYDAY 2 heister - how does this affect me?
A: PAYDAY 2 and OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead are two separate games - but, in true OVERKILL spirit, we’ll make some unprecedented crossovers. When Washington falls, what will Dallas do? If you own PAYDAY 2, you can answer this question in OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead.
Does this mean Left 4 Dead takes place in The Walking Dead universe, since, well, that one heist in Payday 1?
[sp] I know it doesn't [/sp]
Lets not forget that the L4D universe is the same universe as the Counter Strike universe.
And that the first Counter-Strike game was an extension to the Half-Life universe, being called Half-Life: Counter-Strike with a lambda on the front, and featured numerous Half-Life things.
Also the Half-Life universe is the same universe as the Portal universe.
I'm sure there is a very reasonable explanation for all this!

Because it was a pretty decent game at launch despite not having everything it promised. Then it went to shit because of the DLC and bullet sponge enemies.
Maybe it has something to do with them just forcefully stuffing the dick so far down our collective throats with dlc.
What are you going on about here? For every DLC pack that charges you, there's DLC that's free. Besides that, all DLC missions and achievements are free for you to access because someone else can host them and you can join them. Being wrong about something is one thing, but bringing this shit up every single time Payday is mentioned is completely batshit.
It is a hefty sum of DLC, but it is nothing compared to the amout of DLC for every EA and Ubisoft game out there, almost all of which charge money.
don't forget about killing floor's dlc lol
Thank god. I hated the story teller point-and-click bullshit.
Then go play Survival Instinct and go "oh god this is worse"
Remember when we were told we could customize the safehouse?
p much everything wrong with payday is publisher, goldfarb, or steam forum related
"make dlc"
"make harder"
"wow this is too easy you guys should really make this harder" respectively
Goldfarb has been gone for a while, now.
Remember when we were told we could customize the safehouse?
Safehouse customisation and inviting your friends over to them seemed so cool before we actually visited our safehouses. There's virtually nothing to do there and if it did ship everyone would own the top stuff soon enough.
