He should've fled somewhere that isn't on good terms with US. Ecuador could've taken him like they did Assange.
He should've fled somewhere that isn't on good terms with US. Ecuador could've taken him like they did Assange.
That's an abuse of political asylum
Although I don't think Hong Kong will be deporting him anytime soon
Not sure I like the fact that Obama supports this

He did say that he'll move to Iceland.
Dude's an extremely eloquent speaker
He's fled to Hong Kong
You seriously think they won't get him there?
Not sure I like the fact that Obama supports this
Those in power are in favor of whatever helps keep them in power. Don't be a sucker and think only one party is guilty of this, they all are.
Although I don't think Hong Kong will be deporting him anytime soon
Maybe China will hand over a fugitive with access to top secret intel on their rival superpower if we ask nicely.
Maybe China will hand over a fugitive with access to top secret intel on their rival superpower if we ask nicely.
Hong Kong is independent from China. The Chinese will have nothing to do with this guy unless they some how get a hold of him and take him out of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is independent from China. They are allowed a large amount of autonomy, but I do believe China can control it's relationship with foreign powers. Someone do correct me if I am wrong though.
He might be ok in Hong Kong. The Chinese have plenty of dissidents running to the states so this guy could be quite a tasty media tool for the Chinese to give the Americans a taste of their own human rights hypocracy.
Yep 1997 Hong Kong came under Chinese control
Ah well there's that Midwest Bible belt public education for ya :v: We were taught that they essentially became a sovereign state after Britain handed her over and although it's technically part of the Peoples Republic, it maintains all it's own affairs separate from the Chinese govt.

Watch this video of the interview i feel it is the most powerful
Hey guys, I have posted this on my facebook and will continue posting it elsewhere, I suggest everyone posts/shares on as many outlets as possible, just spread it as far as possible etc. It's better than watching the video and doing nothing else.
Hong Kong is a part of china. They are allowed a large amount of autonomy, but I do believe China can control it's relationship with foreign powers. Someone do correct me if I am wrong though.
http://www.basiclaw.gov.hk/en/basiclawtext/chapter_1.html Article 5:
The socialist system and policies shall not be practised in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the previous capitalist system and way of life shall remain unchanged for 50 years.
HK basic law, est. 1997. China can't touch HK until 2047.
You didn't mention the part saying that the military commission ruled he was treated inappropriately
They would probably be the last ones to issue that statement. After all, Manning is just some disturbed PFC with mental problems. Right? On topic, Snowden did right. Yes, he broke the law. What makes that all right is that it's becoming pretty clear that many of the people making these laws and enforcing them are corrupt. If the lawmakers are corrupt and allowing needless infringement on our privacy, then I'd say the details of these policies are fair game.
It's smart he went to the press right away. Now, the whole world will know if he disappears.
It's smart he went to the press right away. Now, the whole world will know if he disappears.
I always thought to myself, if I was in this position I'd keep the public eye on me as much as possible in case something happened.
I always thought to myself, if I was in this position I'd keep the public eye on me as much as possible in case something happened.
Then one night you slip in the kitchen and bash your head open on the country while trying to slide around the floor in your socks and everyone thinks you were assassinated.
"If government is so corrupt, why aren't there whistle blowers?" Probably because there are, and if you are one of them, you better move to Hong Kong or some other extradition friendly country.
