dlc is getting out of hand imo
I'm out
Soon it will be like the downloadable parts of Fable 2 on Xbox 360, you have to pay like $10 for each part of the game and there are like a hundred damn parts to download to have the full game.
Well... I was looking forward to buying Dragon Age 2. Looks like I'll have to abstain from this purchase. Maybe I can catch a sale or something a few months from now... But $60CDN+ for a single player PC game, and then charge me for crappy day-one DLC? No, fuck you. I'm not going to throw my hard-earned dough at you this time. As much as I like BioWare... I can't help but feel that this is the beginning of the end. (Damn you, EA.. You're the real culprits here).
Wasn't there DLC with the release of the first one too? I remember choosing options for talking to your party and getting "Purchase this bullshit to continue with this quest" or something like that.
I am starting to save money due to this kind of bullshit
Suckers like you buy into it, then they raise the prices further because they know they can get away with it. Ever wonder why PC games are $60 these days?
That's assuming that I'm as stupid as you think I am. As I said, if it were more expensive or more substantial, I wouldn't buy it. I'm not in favor of launch day DLC, but if it's insignificant like this or Shale, it's not that big of a deal to me. And for those of you that are afraid that you're getting a game that's missing pieces, that's the job of the DLC's ad, to make you think you NEED it. When in reality, this is probably completely separate from the main story and the companion will be cool, but unnecessary. So I'm not going to let it stop me from having fun.
I'm not buying any more games until this shit stops. Except for Skyrim. :colbert:
The gameplay in the demo pretty much made me swear off this game. This just seals the deal. RIP DAO.
fuck you all gaming companies, except Valve,I love Valve and it loves me.
fuck you all gaming companies, except Valve,I love Valve and it loves me.
Valve, Rockstar and Stardock are the only 3 companies I can think of that do DLC right.
I really don't see a problem. This was made to entice people to pre-order, those who didn't, have to pay for it. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline]
Valve ... are the only 3 companies I can think of that do DLC right.
Are you kidding? The L4D DLC's on xbox were a joke(ahem, Crash Course). And, TF2 Hats ring a bell?
Are you kidding? The L4D DLC's on xbox were a joke. And, TF2 Hats ring a bell?
Microsoft makes companies charge for DLC, they only allow 1 free DLC. Also the TF2 hats don't change anything in game and can be gotten for free.
Microsoft makes companies charge for DLC, they only allow 1 free DLC. The price is just another negative, that is due to MS. And, I don't know why you guys say MS only allows 1 free DLC. Civ: Revolution has 3 Crackdown has 2. Maybe they are charging on release so that it is fair on all systems, just in case they want to use their "free" slots later on.
This came with the signature edition, which cost the same amount as the normal edition. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] Its sort of like Shale from the first game.
"Pigeon CRAP!"
I wish people still did expansion packs. They just felt better, and I'd sure as hell rather spend 20 dollars on a new chapter with new guns or new units or whatever, rather than spending 2 bucks on one piece of new armor.
Anybody miss those times when expansions where like buying a whole new game?
Solution: Stop buying their DLC and stop bitching about it, the gaming industry right now is like a bunch of walking wallets. Save your money for something a little less stupid and ignore it, convince others to do the same. That's all you can really do.
-Snip- I don't want to accidentally cause a flame war or anything [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline]
A lot of people say that. Then suddenly out of nowhere, a CoD map pack sells millions. At least a little boycott counts, right?
Then most people need to shut up and stop whining about DLC if they buy it anyways.
I fucking hate DLC and never buy any of it, I only like DLC when it's actually more like expansion packs. In fact, DLC should just fuck off from gaming really.
