Why does that look so staged?
Because you have no soul
Because you have no soul
Yea, yea, heard it all before. heartless, fascist, rascist, blah blah.
Made a bet with my friend. 10 bucks on whether Obama is killed before he is sworn in, obviously he will make it.
You better hope he doesn't get assassinated. Not saying I'm for him, I dislike both candidates. This was the worst presidential election ever.
LOL at stupid neighbors leaving stupid messages Date: Nov 4, 2008 5:41 PM Subject: OBAMination!!!! Body: we are fucked for the next four years when that faggot gets in the white house, might as well live in china. obama will hurt this country even more, reagan was the best he turned this country around, GO MCCAIN!!! fuck you obama rocks
Yea, yea, heard it all before. heartless, fascist, rascist, blah blah.
I wonder why that could be
Yea, yea, heard it all before. heartless, fascist, rascist, blah blah.
you said it buddy, not me
Fun quasi-related fact: Hussein (حسين) stems from the same root (حسن) as Hassan (حسان) and is in fact a diminutive of the latter name, which means "good" or "handsome". (Fun subfact: Saddam (صدام) means "one who causes bad confrontation", but it can also mean "shoe polisher". Thus, Saddam Hussein can mean both "good little confronteur" and "handsome shoe polisher". :v:)
When I was in school, one of my teachers was named Barack Hassan. He told me Hussein meant Powerful Leader, though. And believe Saddam only means shoe polisher when the first A is emphasized, like Bush says it.
I wonder why that could be
You should see the people who say it.
you said it buddy, not me
Right.
When I was in school, one of my teachers was named Barack Hassan. He told me Hussein meant Powerful Leader, though. And believe Saddam only means shoe polisher when the first A is emphasized, like Bush says it.
Never heard of Hussein meaning "powerful leader", though I believe that's one of the alternate meanings to Saddam. The last part is correct though -- there is a slight change in pronunciation.
Oh, great. Now here comes the Western attempt at translation of Arabic that always ends up as off of the original meaning as Engrish. Always let the native speakers translate unless you know it like a native.
If I ever have kids and they ask about the election and what it meant, I'll show them this picture.
So it had nothing to do with choosing the right leader for the country? The election meant the repair of race relations?
So it had nothing to do with choosing the right leader for the country? The election meant the repair of race relations?
That too, but the deeper symbolism is healing the divide between the United States and other nations
If I ever have kids and they ask about the election and what it meant, I'll show them this picture.
This isn't 1963. Teach your children about the REAL people who made strides for civil rights. It's just another election, just another president. Since he hasn't even taken office yet, we don't know what it has meant for the country. Public over reaction isn't a good guide line. Wait, observe, then judge. After all, every time the wind blows the economy hits record one day jumps and one day falls. Edit:
That too, but the deeper symbolism is healing the divide between the United States and other nations
I don't see how you got that from that picture. As I said, he hasn't even taken office, you don't know what will happen yet.
Since he hasn't even taken office yet, we don't know what it has meant for the country. Wait, observe, then judge.
Funny, aren't you the guy that called me a far-left extremist, suggested someone try shooting at Obama with a sniper rifle, and made a thread where you screamed he was a marxist?

I can feel what's coming. and It's very good. This election shows that America is past it's asshole redneck stage. I don't believe violence is the greatest method of diplomacy, I am trying my best as a citizen to stop America from turning into a cesspool of the Ayn Rand type. Only slightly better than Bush.
That too, but the deeper symbolism is healing the divide between the United States and other nations
So it was important not because it chose the best leader for our country, but because it was symbolic? I just want to get that clear. If you think it was anything other than picking the best of two possible leaders, you were voting for the wrong reason.

Edit: This is why we need a helldump or something to call out shite posters.
Why is it that you kind of people always throw insults and hate towards people you disagree with? Do you not seem to understand that not everyone blindly follows certain people? Or that some of us see negative/dangerous things surfacing from people yet most people chose to ignore it or brush it off as paranoia? Is it some how wrong to bring forth that opinion instead of playing into the situation as yet another yes man? That's the whole point of the 1st amendment. Please respect that.
The point of the 1st amendment is for the law to respect anything you have to say. Not for citizens to respect it. All it does is restricts lawmaking. In other words, if someone calls you an asshole for your opinion, that's allowed too. Not civil, and not proving any point, but allowed. This is why we're able to say that the KKK are all batshit fucking crazy for what they believe in, etc.

I was saying that the point of the 1st amendment is that I can voice my opinions and concerns about political figures. And if I'm being respectful I expect the same in return from the other side of the fence.
We're allowed to have opinions about their opinions if we couldn't then the 1st amendment would be flawed when it says "free speech" Edit:
No, I know. We gonna turn into the USSA - United Socialist States of America
Fucking hell this election is also healing the tension between Whites and Blacks in the US after hundreds of years of discrimination, We are all coming together for a righteous cause and Race does not keep most of us divided in this election, why can't you just let that be.
Obama received 92% of the black vote and 35% of the white vote. To think there's any sort of "healing" going on, is to be putting on the beer goggles. If anything it's just proof that the division is far greater than anyone imagined. All it's going to do is make the people who were already racist, even more so.
I don't know where you live but around here Blacks and Whites were hugging and dancing together when Obama won.
Because a small amount of people united by their party bias can make a difference in celebration. The polls are much more accurate of the majority's opinions than a small group of people at a party.
