You people need to realize that even without the swearing his behavior was extremely unprofessional, muttering, staring at his feet, his reactions seemed slow, and he stuttered a bit. Someone like that should not be put on the air, not sure if it was just his own fault, the possibility that they'd never rehearsed, or something else (maybe he was not informed they were live, but I kinda doubt that), but he was just not acting fit to be on air.

I'd fire him as well no doubt, purely because there are standards that must be had. But I just hope people don't flip out and act "soooo super serious offended" over this. Because people will be so "Shocked" and "Appalled" over 2 simple words. He did deserve to be fired (and he did, lets face it, he was just not cut out for it), but, you get the point. People will go full retard over this.
What a dumbass. It's obvious he has no experience.
Stuff happens and you forget you're on the air I guess. It reminds me of this video:

My name is AJ too

i was thinking the same thing when tried to recover.
Video in the OP, do they have fucking horrible lisps or is that just me?
I feel bad for the guy. He was just nervous, and if they had competent censors, which it seems like they did, it shouldn't have been a big deal.

You're fired.
seems more like he needs a little more time as a reporter instead of being an anchor

its north dakota, they have a weird half canadian/half american accent that i can't understand
Isn't American TV a bit too strict on these things?
yeah what the fuck is up with you guys censoring swear words on tv shows, in Australia anything can be said pretty much after 8 or anytime during cable because the court found swear words weren't offensive but iirc the only channels in America that allow any sort of "harsh cussing" is HBO and SHOWTIME

In the US on free television (any channel you get with just an antenna), there is the watershed, which is some period at night during which nudity and swears are a-ok. Cable and satellite, being privately owned, can show whatever they damn well want.
Of course, these are just Federal laws. The broadcasting corporations really just limit themselves for the most part. That's why you don't see much "bad stuff" on American television.
Honestly, I doubt he will get a job elsewhere. People feeling sorry for him and think that they shouldn't have fired him is kind of ridiculous. If I was his boss I wouldn't want his unprofessional attitude in the workplace. When working, especially when you are new and do not know the bounds that limit in the workplace, you should be on your best behavior and not pushing it.
Even if he would have said this before going live I would have gotten rid of him for unprofessional attitude.
"FUCK IT WE'LL DO IT LIVE"
Still on TV to this day.
"FUCK IT WE'LL DO IT LIVE"
Still on TV to this day.
That tantrum itself wasn't actually live, though.
You could theoretically do an entire take using your exposed ass as a ventriloquist dummy, as long as it isn't live or the take chosen for viewers to actually see. Everything else are just uncut blooper reels.

I can't really hear it. Then again, I'm from South Dakota, know quite a few North Dakotans, so it might just sound normal to me.
In my high school morning news program this kid didn't realize that the broadcast was still going after he finished his segment, allowing the whole school to hear him say "Fuck my life" on air.
He went to West Virginia University... he just looks like one of those frat men who drink every day of the week.
whaat....
in danish tv we hear fuck shit quite often...
even heard bitch in primetime
that's because we scandinavians dont have an organization that censor everything

You can say bitch on American TV. Well, not as an anchor, but in a show.

And landing in a pile of fudging fudge.

Not true. The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a firm grip on what may or may not be broadcast. Unlike most countries the United States does NOT recognize the "watershed." Infact, in the United States we rely on a supreme court mandated "Safe Harbor" of viewing from 10PM to 6AM. What may be broadcast during "Safe Harbor" is only "indecent" material, not "obscene" material. Obscene material is ALWAYS illegal for broadcast in the united states. This is why after 10, HBO broadcasts softcore pornography but does not show "insane double penetration XXX brazilian slutgirlbois."
Because Cable Companies often operate over multiple timezones, they may broadcast a little "around" the "Safe Harbor" hours so long as they justify where their target broadcasting base is. This means while I may be in Central Time watching some mild nudity at 9PM, it's okay because it's broadcast at 10PM EST, which is where the broadcast is being targeted.
It's very understandable that this company fired the man. He was on live news, and although we hear much about the "five second lead", those only exist for Radio as far as I'm aware. Even then, it'd be egragious to pull a "cut to black" on "fucking shit." However, the Company would likely have faced legal heat from the FCC for broadcasting indecent language (intentionally or not) so they opted for the cheaper and easier route of simply firing him than facing FCC fines. (Which themselves are often punative rather than compensatory, and can be in the hundreds of millions for simple "fucks" or "shits" at the wrong time.")
