The 'Creator' decides J.J. doesn't need his wise words

If they made a film with the style and writing of Knights of The Old Republic it would be godly
Super 8 was an ET ripoff ffs... It was ET crossed with a xenomorph and with the ugliest kid actors I've ever seen...
To think that it was even teased in portal 2, in the form of a playable level... That was so disappointing.
When you fucking tease a game to Portal 2 gamers that are potantial 30 year olds with big manly hairy balls, you do it because you know it's going to appeal to them a lot!
How in God's name did that fucking kindergarten meets friendly retarded xenomorph movie appeal to such people?
I literally went to that movie attempting not to spoil it for me from the trailers and I went with a mate.
We were 2 hairy metal heads in the cinema, watching a kids movie about love and friendship between little kids and fucking T-Rexemorph (that eats brains but then find that he loves kids and is acually very nice and has kind eyes...)
After that movie was over both me and my mate came out of the fucking movie theather and we felt the urge to stop for some milk and honey at the corner, and discuss about how much virginity and gayness have we accumulated during that movie...
So don't even dare to bring up Super 8 as a good example.
Star Wars ep 7 has a shitty director and everybody knows it.
Star Wars can be very good when it's done with a much higher level of seriousness added to it's characters.
It has been shown in CG movie clips for games like Star Wars the Old Republic, that Star Wars can be even better than the movies, even without Lucas's help!
How the fuck does putting an interactive trailer in Portal 2 make it a movie that appeals to "30 year olds with big manly hairy balls"? Portal 2 was probably one of the most casual games that Valve has ever put out. If you honestly thought it was going to be some horror movie you should have at least attempted to watch the trailers, because it was pretty clear it was going to be a homage to E.T. and The Goonies. In my opinion, JJ is the perfect choice for a Star Wars movie. He obviously has a lot of room to fuck up, but I think he has the right people around to make sure he doesn't.

I've read through this several times now and I still have no idea what you just said or what you were trying to say.
Super 8 is one of my favorite movies, coincidentally right next to Star Wars.
shut your face
What was so good about it? I am seriously asking. I didn't feel a sense of... anything. It was very emotionless.
this is the one thing that gives me the most hope for these new movies
Good. The prequel trilogy was ruined by not having a Spielberg to call out Lucas' insane ideas.
Here's to hoping it's something smarter and deeper than another dumb JJ Abrams action movie.
Uh, the people who were calling Lucas out on his stupid ideas in the original trilogy wasn't Spielberg, but pretty much everyone else involved with the movies. Spielberg wasn't even involved in the original trilogy.
What has JJ written?
He co-wrote the screenplay for Armageddon.
What has JJ written?
He also wrote Mission Impossible III, and he produced Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal and Cloverfield. Let the arguments begin about how Cloverfield was a great/terrible movie
Yes but he also wrote Super 8 and that was one hell of a generic movie in terms of writing.
JJ Abrams isn't writing the script for the new Star Wars movie so it doesn't really matter.
Yes but he also wrote Super 8 and that was one hell of a generic movie in terms of writing.
oh yeah I'll give you that, it was pretty bland but everything came together nicely and it was very appealing in most regards

Cloverfield is arguably my favorite "giant monster" film, it's just so good
i trust JJ with star wars
super 8 was really damn good tho
it wasn't bad, but there was something missing
Uh, the people who were calling Lucas out on his stupid ideas in the original trilogy wasn't Spielberg, but pretty much everyone else involved with the movies. Spielberg wasn't even involved in the original trilogy.
Yeah, my mistake. The point being that he had to answer to the people he was working with, and that stopped the crazier ideas from making it to the screen. That's Lucas' problem, IMO, he has good ideas and bad ideas, and during the prequel trilogy there was nobody to separate one from the other.
Why does everyone seem to suddenly hate JJ Abrams?
He's directed almost nothing but good films and started great TV series.
I thought the intro was great.
thats kinda what I said

I guess its just because of the magnitude of the project (why everyone is so tense and doubting him and stuff)

Nobody minds him being a director. He's a good director, he knows how to make a film.
Write, on the other hand...

I hope JJ doesn't forget about the poetry

Anyone know who is writing Episode 7? JJ can direct well enough but it better not be the Star Trek writers, they are pretty terrible.

Yes? He's a fine writer as well.

I swear if JJ Abrams makes Damon Lindelof a writer for episode 7 I will be so mad

The guy who wrote Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine.
I thought the guy who wrote Episode V and Raiders was working as a consultant as well.
