Apparently it is a threat to national security to leak information that can be publicly found by open sources?
I dont think this is true. trump may have revealed the name of the city that the info came from. mcmaster said "well ISIS controls some cities, so everyone already knows its one of them"
thats not a good rebuttal

My mouth fell open at that. What a ridiculous response haha.
Oof, Sean Spicer looks rough.
McMaster dodged the questions but at least he isn't as much a babbling idiot as Spicer.
"trump was not even aware of the details of what he leaked, so it should be fine"
What a way to end a press conference.
And people are still going to flock to his defence
This press briefing raises more questions than it answers.
I see the Trump Administration is perfecting the art-form of shooting themselves in the foot,
with a shotgun,
which is automatic,
that is loaded with slugs,
explosive slugs that is.
How long until Trump via Twitter or an Interview or a Rally is gonna contradict any or everything that just was said in the press briefing.
Any bets, I give him a week.
When was the last time something like this has happened in the past?
Quoting this since it looks like it got skipped over.
Wow, this fake news ia getting so bad that even Trump and his cronies are beginning to believe it.
Sad!

In US history? Benedict Arnold comes closest lol

That far back? Jeez.
I voted for the man but something like this, or even a few of the past events can't be just accepted as normal, especially if this is the first time in ages. I'm not sure how to feel to be honest, other than disgusted.

By this point, what foot?

A bit more serious answer: as far as I'm aware, no other sitting president in US history has personally leaked sensitive national security information to a hostile foreign government, intentionally or otherwise. This is unprecedented. The Trump administration's new official response is confirming that information was leaked, but they are attempting to downplay just how serious this situation is, saying that the leaked info wasn't that bad and that it was somehow actually "appropriate" to disclose it to the Russian government.

It's really refreshing to see a person who voted for the guy able to be honest about their displeasure. It's a rare thing now, thank you.
"Since Trump will be meeting with countless world leaders, how will you prevent him from disclosing sensitive information?"
"The president didn't even know where the information came from, but it was appropriate to share it, and I'm confident that he won't reveal anything else to the other world leaders he'll be meeting with."
(All quotes paraphrased, fast moving).
Of course he won't, they're not Russian.

It's like they are attempting a damage control but they grabbed the wrong bucket and are now trying to douse the flames with gasoline :v:

There is a rwitter Trump_Regrets dedicated to such people. Although, reasons are not always sensible (ex. flat-earther denouncing Trump over saying that space exists).

That's extremely serious then because Russia is the farthest from being our "ally". They're not in it to see us succeed by any stretch.

I'm more on the independent side of the political spectrum so I'm not gonna stick to one side just because they're "the party of mine". I'm not afraid to look at what's going on and realize that maybe it wasn't always the best decision. At best I try to look at both sides and get a feeling for what's going on.
Just to wrap this up:
McMasters confirmed that Trump disclosed intelligence information to the Russian government. He refused to confirm whether or not the disclosed information was classified, or what exactly was actually disclosed, because doing so could undermine our national security interests, but he also insisted that disclosing that information to a hostile foreign government not only somehow wouldn't undermine those security interests, it was actually somehow appropriate to share it.
Every day that passes without an impeachment for Trump's barrage of crimes over the past week is another day that the integrity of our government crumbles a little bit more. If you have ever in your life demanded Clinton's arrest over her email server, but see no issue with what is happening right now in the Trump administration, you have no credibility from which to speak on this subject.
So it's more than likely Trump gave the Russian government sensitive and classified information?
The ally that gave that information is gonna be pissed.
i dont know what worse
trump knowingly sharing sensitive information with Russia
or
trump unknowingly sharing sensitive information with Russia
vote on your phones now
Apparently Trump will give a live press conference at 1pm. Keep the updates coming guys, I've got to head out to work so I won't be catching it.

I wonder if people are going to vote so hard that Trump gets impeached.
... or the country descends into civil war. :thatwasfunnyright:
Look at all the people in this thread, I've never seen the forum lit up like that.
I doubt this will trigger an impeachment hearing though.
The Republicans haven't abandoned him yet.
I bet Ivanka and Jared are the sources.
So he didn't disclose anything inappropriate in an effort to extend the olive branch to Russia, who suffered an airline bombing at the hands of ISIS killing 227 innocent people.
Wow, what a dickhead. Lock him up

Until Trump personally visits every trump supporter and squeezes his hot steaming shit down their throats i don't think impeachment would even cross their minds
and even then

What else can we expect from you but the most surface, cursorary way to approach this?
Oh that's right nothing because you'll lie to yourself til the end of time to avoid admitting how big of a fuck up you support.
