Was this the major news story they were alluding to?
(I meant to post in another thread, but I might as well contribute)
There's something I don't quite get about this situation: If a majority of Trump's supporters/defenders are from a time where the Russians were better known as "the big bad evil commie reds", why are they okay with this? Did they just happen to conveniently turn a new leaf?

The sort of people that would fall into line with Trump are the sort where you could say "jump" and they'll say "how high?" as long as you're Republican.

Cult of personality. Once the veil began to drop on Trump's deeply troubling ties with Putin, his most ardent supporters began to convince themselves that Russia must actually be one of the good guys in order to avoid having to face the reality that Trump is the most corrupt politician our country has ever had.
Some already were fans on how Russia deals with racism and minorities.
And the gays, don't forget their expert handling of the gays.

Men should look to ideas and not people for inspiration.
Did anyone find out if James Mattis was ever involved in this scandal in some way?

... gays are minorities
Is is funny watching the Trump adminstation tumble more every passing day.
There has come up so much shit, like a sewage pipe burst right up under the oval office.
Not entirely related, but my dad just sent me this tweet:

Not sure how legitimate it is, but I'd imagine that even if it was, it doesn't seem to take into account of all the new shit that we've been learning about what the administration was doing with Russia over the past few weeks/months.
I mean, does Clinton also have a time machine and an incredibly realistic Trump Disguise?

That's literally a screenshot of this Breitbart article.
Wikileaks really is going down the shitter at this point.

Wikileaks is pretty much a part of Russia's information warfare toolkit at this point, as far as I'm aware
Most recent notable example I can think of is this tweet they sent out shortly after Mueller was named special counsel for the Russian investigation, which conveniently omitted the context
I think I'm out of the loop here, did Wikileak just get bought out by Alt-Right conspirators or something? Cause they're really showing an honest-to-god blatant bias, and lack of integrity.

They've been like this for a while now. They're a joke.
... gays are minorities
But tovarisch, how can gays be minorities when they are not even being people? :russia:

What gays?
I think the clearest possible sign that Trump is fucking terrified is that he's not on Twitter. He's not talking to the media. He's gone dark. Think about that, man. That's not Trump. If he has gone dark, it means that he's so shaken by what's going on right now that he's actually heeding the advice of his counsel and staying out of the spotlight. Every communication he's made on this has been prepared, written statements. He's scared of further incriminating himself.

Fuck, my dad reads Breitbart.
Do you guys know of another way to specifically disprove this to him other than showing him a shit ton of information about the whole thing?

At this point, we can only hope the momentum continues to such an extent that even the GOP wakes up.

Get someone to make a fake Breitbart and cheese your router to make bretibart.com redirect to that?
At this point I think it's fair to say that Wikileaks is no longer a reliable source
It had its time but I personally will be taking everything wikileaks posts from now on with an absolutely metric fucktonne of salt

If your dad thinks Breitbart is a legitimate news source then he's so far gone it would take a very, very long time to convince him otherwise on this issue.
Your best bet is to slowly try and convince him as the impeachment train rolls Trump off of capitol hill that this entire time Breitbart has been fabricating stories in order to radicalize people.
Did anyone find out if James Mattis was ever involved in this scandal in some way?
I've seen nothing to implicate Mattis in any way so far. I could be wrong, but I have basically been living on the Twitter feeds of every major news outlet, and that of dozens of different members of congress, for the past two days, so I don't think I've missed anything pertinent.

No, they were bought out by Russia. Any support they're getting from the west comes from the idea that the leaks are what gives them integrity rather than the mission statement, so they have absolutely no reason to care about bias anymore.

The problem is I'm not entirely sure where to start.
I mean, I occasionally send him emails linking to some articles and videos, I can't seem to focus on all the more deeply in-depth shit. It doesn't help that half the time I send him something, he opens up a can of extra shit about George Soros and all the other shit he seems to be capable of remembering from decades ago that may or may not absolutely prove my point wrong.
I should be thankful that it doesn't happen all the time and that there are at least some issues that we agree on, like net neutrality, separation of church and state, legalization of marijuana, and etc. Still, some of this stuff can be pretty damn overwhelming since I don't look into these oddly conservative conspiracy theories.

Did he send the tweet to you in regards to the current stuff that's going on with Trump?
If so, then I have to ask: He's aware that the Breitbart article isn't pointed at the stuff that's presently going on, right? It's aimed at Hillary's immediate loss reaction of "if it hadn't been for those darn dirty Russians and FBIs I'd have won!"
The original article was published in April, and doesn't seem to be contextually connected to this at all.
By the way, if this sounds like I'm defending Breitbart at all, I want to make it clear that I'm not.
Am I the only one that feels that "he is showing signs of dementia" is the cover they are going for to minimize damage? Because it sure would be a bit messed up that his mental state was apparently fine to take office, but now conveniently when he screwed up majorly he is mentally unfit(?).
I'm not sure Trump would roll with that, to be honest.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I sent him an email about it and said that we didn't take the "the Russians did it" claim seriously until some leaks came out.
Although, I may need to word it better since it probably didn't make much sense.
