This is the age we live in now, where people complain about journalistic ethics and yet when people stick to those ethics, like protecting your sources, they get lambasted for lying.
Also yeah I'm sure WaPo and Reuters and NYT are risking their entire reputations on something they know is false just to get a petty blow in on Trump.
"All news outlets have some hint of liberal/conservative bias, so that instantly invalidates any objective coverage of news stories. Therefore, if some small hint of bias in the coverage exists, the story is fake news and not worth discussing. Case closed! Now, let's talk about Her Emails!"
What are Republicans even doing anymore. They didn't want this guy as their candidate and they're staring down mid-term elections but they keep lining up to sign their name on the dumpster fire.
Party before pride before people.
They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation.
The Washington Post has a liberal bias in reporting choices, however they are typically well sourced to credible information. Sometimes they rush stories to be the first to break them, which leads to poor sourcing. This has occurred on a few occasions in 2016. When an error is made the Washington Post responsibly makes corrections.

The key line being "well sourced, credible information."
Look, you're right to take bias into consideration, and Washington Post has a slight liberal bias. However, you cannot discount the entire story just because the breaking media organization had a slight bias. Yes, be aware of the potential for loaded words or a certain amount of spin, but know that the story itself is not just "fake news." This now been independently confirmed by almost every major outlet, including Reuters, who is regarded as one of the most credible journalistic entities in the world.

What has to happen for this not to be a media fabrication? Does Trump have to kick Spicer off the podium, look into the camera, and say: "Yes, it's true, all of it. I'm a criminal, please arrest me." ?
Let's take a moment to appreciate this random gem

Can't we all agree that Trump shouldn't be president? His attempts at controlling and discrediting media are pretty obvious.

I still don't think even that would deter his more ardent supporters:
"He's just being coerced by the Deep State"
"He's stepping down because of liberal propaganda attacks"
You would think this is enough to impeach him, but I doubt they will.

It wasn't even Hitler that said that, I believe that was Gobbels...

"Hitler said whatever is most convenient to my argument."
That makes it better even
Actually I'm wrong, it is a quote from Hitler. Gobbels said this which confused me:

Sorry, I fucked up lol
I would normally joke about "Trump would have to have an email server to get him impeached", but around Inauguration, reports came out of Pence having a similar email server set up and nobody cared.
I would normally then try and come up with something else like sexual assault, but "Grab Her By The Pussy" didn't stop him.
What if he kills someone? "I could stand here and shoot somebody and not lose any voters!"
What if he becomes a "war hawk" like Hillary? "Syria needed to be bombed; they were gassing kids. North Korea has to be handled by someone at some point! No more procrastination - just rip it off like a band-aid!"
I'm not being snarky at this point - I genuinely am struggling to think of a line that could be crossed in order to get Trump to lose Support.
"Hitler said whatever is most convenient to my argument."

"do you really think someone would do that? just go on the internet and tell lies?"
This is why Fox news viewership is less informed than people who don't read the news at all, as confirmed by multiple studies. You want to see dishonest reporting and heavy bias in action? Look no further, nesto. The questions and even featured. Instead, the training story is a smear piece on Clinton, and the only response to this massive news is an all capital headline in the bottom left reading, "IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!"
I can add to this. Turned on Fox News for a few (you guys better give me a fucking medal or something for this) just to see what the actual TV channel was reporting on and how, so I could relay it back. They aren't giving this story the huge focus it deserves, only saying (paraphrasing) that the story is hypist trash because WaPo are liberal and "source-less" because they are purposely ignorant of the idea of protecting your sources in moments like this I'm sure, and that "a certain degree of obfuscation and privacy should always exist towards the media." Excusing to the lack of press in the room I am sure.
The story they were instead airing was about a ~poor conservative college goer~ who was "shouted out" of a liberal "safe space" at a free-speech talk, using footage of him being sworn at. He then was interviewed, talked about how "these people" don't value free speech (those two words were, of course, used ad nauseum in this segment) and hate it when it doesn't agree with them, so they will instead shout people down. Basically a masturbatory "conservatives are the true guardians of free speech in america, colleges are stupid" piece. The guy then talked about "coming out" as conservative and how he found the right so much more welcoming than the left who were all clashing against his ideals apparently. The segment then ended with the quote, and this is a direct quote "the left is on it's death throes." To commercial.
Fox News is like this 24/7. It's a completely absurd, absolutely disgusting conservative propaganda machine. People often like to parrot on about it being terrible, but I'm not sure if they realize the ACTUAL DEGREE OF TERRIBLE that we are really talking about here.

Well for starters they can post the transcript of the meeting that they possess(with proper redactions ofc).
no matter what happens or who does what, i will never not feel bad for sean spicer.

why nobody has made a sitcom about this is beyond me
If only the US had elections for impeachment/resignation instead of relying on the line of succession, because Comey/Yates 2017 should really be a thing.

comey directly contributed to trump becoming president in the first place, in a glaringly obvious sabatoge of democracy, dont make him into a martyr just because trump fired him

Can't wait for them to do that and for you to just go "oh they made it all up, it's obvious no one would ever say that" and go back to your usual rounds of rancid denial-fueled shitposting

Original Source (WaPo) covers the metaphorical transcript:
"WaPo has a liberal bias! They are obviously cherry picking select excerpts and being biased in their coverage"
Another Source covers the metaphorical transcript:
"We obviously can't know if the same sources are being used here. A different news outlet is covering this - they can't even get their stories straight!"
Another Source covers the metaphorical transcript after seeing it provided via Original Source (WaPo):
"[Another Source] isn't contributing anything new. They're just rehashing existing coverage. Groundbreaking stuff. Furthermore, they are using a source with liberal bias."

They won't even ditch him to save themselves though. Like seriously, at this point how are they not better off just swapping him out for Pence.

They might be as brainwashed as his supporters. Or power has gone to their heads.

Nearly every major media outlet in the Western world is covering this story (except Fox, who is attempting to distract viewership with new Clinton stories), with multiple agencies confirming reports through independent sources, and you're still crying bias and ignoring reality, continuously moving the goalposts farther and farther back to avoid having to admit that you're being over critical. Just be reasonable for once, man.
