I'm just saying, I don't feel like it's exactly prime comedy to make light of battering women, even if it's at the expense of the batterer. But far be it from me to seem like I'm saying 'DON'T MAKE DARK JOKES!'. It's your guys prerogative to make light of what you want, just as much as it's my prerogative to get uncomfortable around it and voice my discomfort.
Personally I find it a breath of fresh air to just hiding it under the carpet the way society has done. It's incredible how fast people forgot what a monster this guy is.
I really dont see what the fuss is here. He was let out a little bit early. He served the majority of his sentence for a non-serious crime (not like Murder or Serial-Arson or anything like that). Prisoners, for whatever crime they commit, are often let out earlier for good behaviour and a multitude of other reasons. Whilst Chris Brown may not be the ideal candidate for 'good behaviour' you have to consider the many factors at play here. It is expensive to keep someone in jail. It is expensive documenting and keeping up with the immense amount of paperwork even a short stay in jail entails. It is expensive with the Lawyers on both sides of a case. It is expensive, both in terms of actual money and 'time' involved, when a Judge, Jury, Security and all manner of other people are involved, even if its as simple as sitting someone down for a 5 minute conversation. The sooner matters are dealt with and someone is 'out' of the penal system, the better it is for everyone, unless they are true criminals with repeat-offender history or otherwise extremely severe crimes. An average person, served an average sentence, who hopefully learns his lesson (probably not), is let out a little early. Those seemingly insignificant 23 days actually translate to a lot of money involved for a rather petty crime. Its best if everyone just hopes he doesnt re-offend and end up back in jail. > Edit No, I dont condone violence against women or anything like that. Violence is Violence and it is wrong. However, its not like he went and killed 15 people and then burned down a Village or something. He was served his sentence as deemed 'sufficient' by whatever Judge viewed his case. He served the majority of the time dictated in his sentence and was released a little early as law allows, credited for reasons seen in the Original Post. The fact he is a celebrity really doesnt matter.
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1276521
The case has been going for a year.. Is he constantly in custody, or has he been going in and out all this time? If he's been arrested for a year I really don't believe he's innocent. It's really hard to keep someone locked up for that long without evidence, it'd be something else if the police didn't see it as neccessary to keep him locked up.
Accused. Meaning that we don't know if he actually did anything. Tons of people in the thread seemed to miss that.
For many, accused = guilty
For many, accused = guilty
I dont really know the legal processes but~ If he's only accused and not convicted guilty, why did he serve jail-time? Over 100 days at that?
