Yeah it's the equivalent of Republicans basically, it's quite terrible.

In America they're called centrists
To add on, you need 155 seats in the house for a majority. As it stands on http://www.electionalmanac.com, the tories (Harper) are up for 146 seats, so it's hard to say at the moment.
I predict that they'll lose a few from that estimate during the campaigning.

Our conservatives are farther left than your democrats actually
From the sounds of it, they're further left then our US Conservatives. No wonder you hate them, Zeke.

They are indeed more to the left than Conservatives in the US, but they're still Conservative. Not Left or Centre-Left.

If they were further left doesn't that mean that he would like them more than the republicans?

Seriously, you've got to get your logic straight here glaber, it goes: Right = bad, Left = good. It's like a sliding scale where 100 is far left and -100 is far right, duh.
Well, good thing I'm not moving to canada anytime soon.

Semi-recent map, 2005. Just so you know where the majors stand.
Goddamnit. I seriously cannot see how this would help "the people"

Good luck to them.

But seriously, if you're doing anything borderline, use a proxy.
There are illegal things on the internet (child porn, libel, DDoSing) and law enforcement should absolutely have the right to enforce those laws, but forcing ISPs to reveal customer information without a warrant is unacceptable.
That should be done in the good old physical sense, you find out where the content is being hosted, go physically to the server and take a shotgun to it, not this.
The internet has already destroyed many professions, and has bled the money out of several industries. It has been used as a tool to overthrow dictators, and empowered peasants to revolt. Something that powerful cannot be taken down by the legislature of Luddites. I guarantee that these plans are going to backfire.
A tool used to overthrow dictators? That can mean it can also put dictators in power.
That has given me an idea.
Jesus Christ. Fuck the conservatives, I used to think they were tolerable but this shit is ridiculous.
Soon we will get fined for speeding....or scrolling to fast

I assumed that you of all people would know which side is "left" and which is "right"
