I took 25 minutes to write a massive reply to this post, complete with two or three different issues like slut shaming, except trying to level the field for men, not women. (Imprisonment rates, homeless rates, women's standards vs male standards, insurance, abortion rights, etc etc.) Then I realized, you'd just come back with arguments such as the income gap, chances of success, public perception, etc etc. So instead, I deleted it all and I'm going to say this: Men and women are already equal. They weren't 100 years ago, but all evidence points towards that they are now. Not in every single exact same field though, but overall they are. This is why I don't think it's an issue: both genders are more or less equal. I personally believe we should take what we have, (For example, men getting praised for seducing multiple women, yet women finding it easier to pursue any man) and just bend ourselves to the mold currently resides in. Honestly, I find all of these "social issues" to be unbelievably stupid in this era of time. At the start of this thread I asked why people thought this "Fantasy Slut League" was a big deal for a reason: it isn't really a big deal. I thought to myself that I'd end up in an argument like this, against people with the exact same beliefs that you hold. And sure enough, I did. Men and women are equal, and so people with views like you, though you have good intentions, will eventually end up offsetting what we've accomplished so far. As I said, just leave the whole MEN VS WOMAN thing the way it is now and accept that both genders have advantages and disadvantages before we start pushing for more stupid shit such as "slut shaming" and "male breastfeeding rights." Any more time as a society yearning for this stuff is wasted time. Trust me, you may think it is good to be pursuing the slut shaming cause; but it isn't.
What you really need to consider is how slut shaming can hurt someone. Particularly the kind of people slut shaming can hurt the most, teenage girls. Being a teenage girl (or a teenager in general) is to be at the apex of your sex drive. It's very difficult to simply tell someone to not have sex at this age. While people's sexual appetites can vary, when a girl is perceived to having one that is too great they are often berated heavily for it sometimes to the point of being treated like a subhuman thanks to the slut shaming culture. It can cause them to lose friends who don't want to be associated with someone who is labeled a slut, frequent ridicule from peers, and in some cases even their family might look down on them. Considering how important self esteem is for most people this age and how fragile it can be the effects of slut shaming can be long lasting, even lifelong in some cases. Saying that it is on the girl to be wary of such a culture and the consequences of it is in it's very essence a large part of the problem that allows the culture to be as prevalent as it is.
