Using a compiler.
What ProZak said, but even then it is illegal to use the source as you do not license it. You'd get in really deep shit for using leaked engine code.
Unless you use it to help you in understanding how it (source) works when you're trying to clean-room reverse-engineering it.
Though you'll still be doing something illegal by obtaining and having a copy of it.
I got a working portal compile and working on TF2 thanks to a friend. Also the hammer source code is here too. It turns out adamix had 2 separate archives on his database. one was the 2007 source code with the project files and one was the licensee code base with no project files. I haven't found a difference in code between the two yet.
ITT: Yeah. I know some of these words.

Hammer is a mess, you won't be able to do much with it.
Well, if the leak is compileable, someone compile TF2 Invasion! :D
The UE3 copy of the source code is from 2007, and is quite outdated. It's been out there for ages, and is very easy to find.

Holy flying shitfuck
That's an old video, though. It's not from this leak.
I bet Facepunch will die now for some hours due to this thread.
looks what came through
That's an old video, though. It's not from this leak.
I believe the code is pretty much the same though. So you'd end up with something similar except the changes that's made in this video.
Well, if the leak is compileable, someone compile TF2 Invasion! :D
hahahah, the code here in the /tf2/ file gives so many fucking errors now that I have it up. The only games that had project files are
hl2
hl2mp
episodic
tf
cstrike
portal
dods
that leaves tf2 and tfc code. Hell, even the modern-day TF2 code has so many errors in it, that it may not get running. i may be missing files though

edit: I would if I could.

People keep asking me for the size of it. Un-rared it's about 1.5 gigs

and after that layla was never heard from again
and after that layla was never heard from again
...why?

Make sure you have INVASION_DLL declared. But yea, Invasion is really broken...
...why?
He has a working copy of a leaked engine from a high security network
did you read the article about of the guy who leaked HL2?

why was this never expanded on? anyone have a story of why it was dropped? it looks pretty fun.
He has a working copy of a leaked engine from a high security network
This was leaked from a low security network, as evident by the .svn folder. :v:

We needed people to make assets for us, and nobody did. We lost interest because it made development a bit complicated.

oh I mean why valve dropped it, didn't know people were trying to make it fully functional

It's not really much use though because the engine binary can't be anywhere other than the source base 2007 folder.
Well, It can but then nothing mounts.
Got a hold of it, the datacache stuff is pretty interesting, I might be able to make some cool stuff I couldent be arsed to do all the reverse engineering for with this
