How come the Linux folders havent been mentioned here before?
Seems valve had thoughts of porting to linux for quite a while
There were linux files all the way back in the L4d1 demo, it isn't any breaking news I guess...But it is interesting that they were in the 2007 source I suppose.
Apparently some people are already doing it.

I remember seeing the same video elsewhere. I'm pretty sure thats an old video.

I do agree with you that it looks familiar but a friend of mine on steam was in that video and has screenshots to prove it. It is a use of the leaked code.

Everything related to Linux in this SDK is used for compiling the dedicated server. Nothing new about that at all.

It was compiled with the leak but its on an old map from another mod.

That's why I love cheap VPS servers with unlimited bandwidth.
SSH tunnel, aww yeah.
Has anyone been able to compile the Foundry from this leak? That could very well be the most useful part of the entire thing...
Well I have been havng fun with the portal gun on Hl2 levels: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=97471654

You could do that with the old Portal, but have you fixed NPC Weapon firing? o3o

If you mean them firing through portals, not yet, this is basically just the portal code put into a mod, I plan to try and get them more portal aware next,

Foundry is just an entity editor, it's not like it's completely Hammer in-engine

I know this. During the TWP Contest this year I managed to totally forget to add a Portal Gun.
I was on holiday, and had to add the entity to my map via Remote Desktop on my Tablet over a patchy 3G system. You have no idea how long that took - especially since I had to compile it and then send it to a friend to build worldmodel and cubemaps as that wouldn't work via RDP. If I had Foundry, I could have, as far as I'm aware, added the Portal Gun to the already compiled map. Would have been SO much easier...
has anyone contacted these companies,i started to see the leaks everywhere in the net.

i'm going to go ahead and say they are well aware of this.
edit: tried to compile legion, fixing errors.
does anyone know what VXConsole is? Looks like a playtest debugger thing
edit2: yup its an xbox debugging program

alright after an hour of tinkering I still cant get foundry to load in ASW. might try a different engine.
edit4:
CToolFrameworkInternal::LoadToolsFromLibrary: Unable to load 'tools/foundry.dll'
could not load tools.foundry.dll
fuck
With this code, would it be possible to port the sdk tools to OSX and Linux?

I guess theoretically. Good luck though as they make extensive use of DirectX, GDI and MFC.
If you compile it against (Dar)winelib you can make a port in a few days.
You would have the whole thing compiled under linux/mac but have a library to support the DirectX, GDI and MFC calls.
Its not perfect but its already a step better then running the tools under wine/vm.
If someone was up to it they could compile the release version of foundry.dll and make a mod of alien swarm and try load it up.
Foundry won't load with ASW because they're different engines. The Foundry that already comes with ASW works just fine.
So any news on any Foundry progress?

Also, were the bot sources found in the CS:S leak? How useful could they be for source A.I in mods?
