Do you not know how to read?
by comparison i'm assuming you have a laundry list of source developers that have made wildly successful projects?
Sorry, this thread isn't a Kopimi debate room suddenly because you can't read.

Holy shit, someone is debating in sensationalist headlines? No...........
No, this cannot be
someone get amcfaggot on the line, he's not the hero SH needs, he's the hero SH deserves. Only he can put a stop to the exceptionally rare occurrence of debating in SH.
amcfaggot will save the day with his fluttershy cape and dull wit.
Another leek? Soon we can make a salad

what was the point of mentioning you know source devs if not to make a comparison to incompetent unreal devs
were you just sharing a random factoid or are you being hyper defensive because i said "yeah.. but i mean here's why theres so many lame Unreal projects:"

At least it's old source code.
That Pic in the screenshot that interlopers has is incomplete

Such shameful file associations.
Gabe is going to close the doors to his chocolate factory after this..
I'm pretty sure that valve is having all the important files somewhere on a ~disclosed~/ not connected to the internet server
properties>size>0 kb
Just contains c_npc_surface.cpp
I'm pretty sure that valve is having all the important files somewhere on a ~disclosed~/ not connected to the internet server
nope
but some people have also been saying that some mod team could have also leaked this considering valve gives engine access to licensees that don't make particularly huge games
Too bad it's currently midnight on Valve time, I'm really interested in what they're gonna say and do.
Is the cryengine3 source is also leaked or am I reading the translation wrong?
Is the cryengine3 source is also leaked or am I reading the translation wrong?
The Source engine Code was Hidden inside the Cryengine 3 download as a "bonus"
why is valve subject to these type of attacks they are the nicest most caring company around
I predict this is going to be a hella fun ride with people finding dev in-jokes and scrapped content and maybe even ways to make mods better
Internal tool code, you guys! Massive improvements in plugins for third party software and compilers. Who knows if there's some scrapped code for game or tool features that they couldn't get in games at the time, or that 2007 machines couldn't handle?
What kind of negative impact can this cause to Valve?
There's some Steam related things that could be interesting. Crackers might discover some exploits they haven't fixed yet, but I don't think anything serious really.
What kind of negative impact can this cause to Valve?
Hackers getting some insight on games that use this engine, *maybe* some crappy reverse engineering.
On the other hand, it'd be great PR if they came out and said "Yeah, we've moved on, do anything you want with it besides profit" It's been leaked and it's pretty much impossible for them to stop people from sharing it, anyway.

That'd be great, but would never happen.
They'll be cracking down on it like they did with the 2003 source leak. People won't really use it.
They don't care. If they did, they probably would have shown that they cared within the last half decade in other ways than giving us ~Hat SDK 2012~, at least they show the mappers some degree of pity.
The thing is their most prominent form of "bragging" (if you want to call it that) comes from building a company of innovators, many of which came from backgrounds of having made mods, and yet they don't maintain their mod development kits.
Yeah valve don't care about mods at all i mean that's why they have the SDK modding tools, and a load of helpful tutorials to get people started and recently started greenlight so mods can get a chance to be on steam and get more recognition.
Yeah they don't care about the community.

This really isn't worth arguing over.
What kind of negative impact can this cause to Valve?
Honestly not that much. It didn't have any new content and mostly seems to be the licensee version. If anything this will benefit the mod community.

And so it begins.. Not sure what will begin but certainly something
I'll be done in 10 hours!
