It just seems weird reading his last name as "Under God"
I don't see anything wrong with this, even though he's wrong in claiming that the nation is under god
No, I have nothing wrong with it either. We should be able to name ourselves whatever we want. Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that the single most important facet of identifying ourselves is chosen by someone else?
It just seems weird reading his last name as "Under God"
It vaguely looks like "Underdog" :v:
Things just keep getting weirder and weirder...first the guy trying to change his name to that of a dog, and now this guy successfully changed his name to something that is about four words! What the hell? If shit like this continues, then I would start to think that changing my name to Neo would be less weird if people continue to change their names to something with more than 2 words.
Truth is, this namechange is fairly reasonable, and Americans have been using those kinds of names originally. Untill the forefathers hijacked it. :sigh: It's like a freakin' circle...
That's it. I'm changing my name to "People Who Change Their Names To Phrases Are Stupid Ohwait" And nobody's going to stop me.
So the furry couldn't have "Boomer", a fairly reasonable name, yet this guy could have a whole fucking phrase?
"Boomer" should rub this story in everyone's face
I don't see anything wrong with this, even though he's wrong in claiming that the nation is under god
Says it on quarters and you play pinball machines with quarters so therefor it is true. /validargument
"Boomer" should rub this story in everyone's face
A name has to be approved by an American judge. An American judge works for the American government. The American government is American. Americans are overly christian. Christians get special treatment in political matters. Therefore, the "sinning furry" didn't get his name, but the Christian weirdo got his.
Does this mean I can change my name to Regie Satanas Ave Satanas?
Sounds pretty damn egotistical to me
Makes me want to change name to One world under hitler :hitler::hf::twisted:
It's the other way around. America has nothing to do with god, as a matter of fact, it's more against religion than it's for it. Atleast it's original values set up by it's forefathers, untill dumbass christians hijacked it.
If you want to get technical, the Pilgrims left England because the King basically went batshit insane and was like HEY YOU. YOU'RE A PROTESTANT NOW. DEAL WITH IT. So then they got upset and decided to leave. At that point in time, Christianity was absolutely a major religion, one of the largest in the world. This was before Darwin showed up and started making theories and such, and just generally before people started to become all suspicious about the whole god thing, so basically the other religions around at the time where offshoots of Christianity, Islam, Jewish, etc. (And just to illustrate this further, here's a quote from Thomas Jefferson's autobiography.
Where the preamble declares that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion...an amendment was proposed...to [insert] the word ‘Jesus Christ,’ so that it should read ‘a departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion.’ The insertion was rejected by a great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan [Muslim], the Hindoo, and infidel of every denomination.
Now, when America was formed, the point was not that they were ANTI religion, but that it was formed as a result of religious persecution and so therefore would not persecute anybody for their religions. So America was not anti-religion, it was anti-telling people what religion they were. That being said, America is no more a Christian nation than it is an Atheist one. We're all equal (or at least that was the point). I don't know WHERE the combining of Church and State comes into the picture, and honestly I'd prefer that they remain entirely separate. Jesus advocated that himself, as a matter of fact. A lot of people choose to ignore that one way or another. I'm not saying the guy was smart, he's clearly being an idiot. But I'm pointing out flaws with the post you didn't really think through very well.
Just name him God and get this over with.
Imagine James bond, but with this guy. "Thank you for saving me,mister..." "Under God.One Nation Under God." :U
If I were him, I would have my first name be One, middle name be Nation, and last name be Under God. So if you don't put your middle name, it says One Under God.
I don't see what is wrong with this. If you want to be One Nation Under God, ok. And if you want to be Boomer The Dog, ok. I really don't think that there was any discrimination, because the furry and this guy had different judges approve their names. If it was the same judge it would be suspicious.
Removing the space in "Under God" makes it "Undergod," which sounds like a pretty badass cave- or tunnel-themed supervillain name.

Wow this is stupid!
What a moron.
Do I have something backwards here, or is school prayer (outside of christian schools) a desecration of religious freedom?
Do I have something backwards here, or is school prayer (outside of christian schools) a desecration of religious freedom?
Uh, what? Do you mean "mandatory school prayer is a violation of religious freedom"? If so, yes, and i'm calling him a moron for thinking prayer in school is banned or something, like a lot of other people (oddly enough) think. You can pray in school, no one gives a shit about that, but you can't make someone pray in school.
There are church robots and there are country robots. This guy is a robot of both.
What the hell is this?
I like the way this man thinks, maybe a little extreme, but I like it. He is the first part of the awakening that we are about to have in this nation.
There are church robots and there are country robots. This guy is a robot of both.
So he hates Obama AND poor people?
I will change my name to One Nation Under Satan
I will change my name to One Nation Under Satan
No you won't
wanna bet
you might experience a bigger outlash if you make your name One Nation Under Allah (yeah yeah i know God and Allah are the same....)
