Slow news day?
I know right? Everyone that I know has feet that are exactly 12" long.
Shit, accidentally rated that late.
Surely when they cram 256 of those in a box they get squished a bit?
So does every Subway franchise give employees a 6" sandwich for every 4 hours worked, or is that up to the owner?
Oh they can just fuck right off. A 6" sub, as it is referred to on their menu, is a "footlong" cut in half. If the footlong isn't 12" then the 6" is also the wrong size and that means false advertising.
Shut the fuck up. Most employees cant even cut straight so you get a 7" sub.
Because of this, people had to come into stores and measure the fucking bread from coporate. Most bread, at least at my store, was AT LEAST 12" with some of it being bigger.
Nothing is false advertising. Footlong is a TM, just like the Happy Meal.

Turkey Ham and bacon

Do you get free sandwiches areolop?

He was saying they don't have a Melt, in accordance with Islamic customs. Ham and bacon aren't on it.
Did anyone consider he cut an inch out of the center?

Yes. Subway feeds me, for free, at least 4 times a week
then it's 11 inches? not a foot?
ask yourself... how many inches are in a foot?
Did anyone consider he cut an inch out of the center?
Even if he had, it spawned multiple others discovering a similar shortage in their sandwiches.
We have no way of knowing; and either way, it doesn't really matter.
i usually wouldn't get mad about this but subway constantly puts a giant campaign over the fact that their subs are a Footlong.
aka 12 inches.
to the point where it's fucking annoying.
they even show 1 ft. in their commercials

so it's technically false advertising. anything to get them to shut up about their subs being a footlong with that stupid ass song the better i feel.
You want them to sing "Five dollar Eleven inches LOOOOOOOOOONG!"?
People complain about this, when a much bigger issue with Subway is how prices keep rising and the amount of food on your sub is dropping. You get a bit of meat or tuna or egg salad or whatever, and then they put on like two huge fistfuls for each of the vegetables you ask for(lettuce is the worst) to try and make it feel more filling.
Size matters
So does every Subway franchise give employees a 6" sandwich for every 4 hours worked, or is that up to the owner?
I've worked at four different Subways under four different owners. Two gave a six inch per shift, another a six inch per every six hours (we had four hour shifts anyway...) and the last one charged me for any six inch I ate (I quit there fast).
Oh god, that was a fricken nightmare.

I was making the entire bag of meatballs at open, and another bag after it. (A case of meatballs a day)

This guy knows his shit.
Technically, under the contract I signed, I'm supposed to get a free 6 inch for 5 hours worked and a footlong for 6 hours. Our manager doesn't care, however, so I just usually take a free footlong at the end of a shift and go home.
And yeah, if it's under/oveproofed or baked it'll generally end up short. And keeping it in the bread cabinet all day will cause it to shrink as it looses moisture. Not to mention whoever prepped it in the mornings may not have stretched the dough to the correct length before putting it in the oven.
Corporate actually offers some measuring tools so we can know when the bread has been properly proofed. Our owner never ordered any. I've come into the store in the afternoon and seen some pretty shitty bread.
Oh god, that was a fricken nightmare.

It's pretty much a gyp anyway. Oh wow, 6 inch ham for $3. You save about 50 cents off the standard sale price.
Not to mention our store counterbalanced customer appreciation month by dropping the "Sub of the day" program. Lot of fun trying to explain to customers why their subs are suddenly costing them 5 bucks more.
I work at the busiest Subway in my city, we usually get about 250-350 transactions per day. But I don't mind, the shift goes by fast and the owner and people I work with are cool. We make our 6" any way we want. Yesterday I had:
6" Italian
Double Buffalo
6 pieces of bacon
8 slices of pepperjack and some shredded cheddar
Fuckton of jalepenos, onions, and ranch
It was great.

Our owner is generally pretty strict on what we're allowed to grab for free. I never take anything I cannot reasonable justify (a bowl of soup from a pot that I'm going to toss rather than keep till the next day, cookies that have been under/overbaked, etc.)
And fuck, 250-350 transactions a day? My store is the quiet one in town and generally ends around 170ish.
A friend of mine took this photo months ago, and I know for a fact that sandwich was cut in half. It's amazing how much it's shape can change just by how it's wrapped.

Yeah the owner probably wouldn't appreciate the sandwiches I make for myself, but he's never really around, just the assistant manager.

Which bugs you guys more, "Monetary" or "Monterary" Cheddar? Also a few months back someone asked me for the "Tuscon" Chicken.

Just to put this into perspective at a store I work at, we do that, for lunch. What this store does in a day is equal to another store does in a week.

Short story,
yesterday I had someone call and complain that the footlong he received was only 7". Myself and my boss both looked at each-other, laughed, and hung up.
Another inch is like a bite full or two

Havent counted recently, but we have 8 on for lunch. M-F, closed sat/sun
at this other store I work at, we have 8 employees total

Our owner spies on us. He's got a live feed from the cameras to his house. Our managers have warned us to be careful what we do as he could be watching at any time.
He'll also give money to his friends/relatives to come in and order so they can report back to him on what we're doing.

Holy fuck. The most my store ever has at one time is 3, maybe 4 between shifts.
I'm working the close tonight from 5-10 and it's me and one other person.

We have 4 for lunch, 3 at night with almost zero exceptions. It gets very hectic.

None of our cameras work, we could be robbed and have zero video evidence.

We should make a Subway thread.

There's a Subway in a gas station in my town that has 1 employee all the time. I'd imagine it gets pretty boring.
