Frankly, I wouldnt care. No one ever uses our bathrooms
All of it is easy, but very tedious at times (especially refilling the sauce bottles, the most hated task by everyone). And that drives a lot of people away after working there a week or two.
Do you guys have a system in place to refill sauces? We have at least one filled copy bottle of sauce for everyone up front. When one runs out, we switch it, and then when we get time we rinse out and refill another copy.

We have three bottles of sweet onion (and still manage to run out sometimes, requiring instant refilling) and 5 mayo bottles that never seem to empty. We switch them out throughout the day as needed, then at the end of the night someone takes all of them in the back and refills all of them (this is the most hated task) and cleans the bottles and everything. Also - who else puts light mayo in the regular mayo bottle because light mayo bags are $12 cheaper than regular? :v: [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline] Oh, here's a picture of the back of my store. It's cramped as fuck [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline] And here's what happens when we get bored :v:
hey scorp would you spare a sub if I came crashing your workplace
Sure, why not
I eat subway about 90% of my lunches at micro center. I always get a 6 inch and a soda and sometimes a bag of chips. Recently I also do a chicken noodle soup and just a 6 inch bread by its self and dip the bread into the soup and eat it. I like the staff at my subway, Know them all since we work in the same mall everyday. I've never acutally sat down and measured my 6 inch or anyones footlong but we don't really concern ourselfs about maybe half an inch or full inch
Ok, yo. Mega long post with a lot of images incoming. Oh man, I miss M&M cookies
Oh man, I miss M&M cookies
the picture was an M&M, Chocolate chip, double cho, and Mac. all put together
the picture was an M&M, Chocolate chip, double cho, and Mac. all put together
Sounds delicious. I've never tried doing that haha. We had to stop selling the M&M and Sugar cookies. Apparently, it's a non-compliance to sell more than five varieties.

I wish we could have those rasp. cheesecake ones back.. but everyone else wanted the fucking double chocolate chip
you're making subway sound so horrible with all this non compliance talk, I'm willing to bet almost all fast food is the same though.
used to work at subway manager was a real hardass
Sounds delicious. I've never tried doing that haha. We had to stop selling the M&M and Sugar cookies. Apparently, it's a non-compliance to sell more than five varieties.
My store sells 6 varieties. Living on the wild side, aww yeah!
Seriously? Cheesecakes were crazy popular when they first came out, but now it seems everyone wants the double chocolate out of no where. Now that M&M and sugar ones are gone, I prefer the mac ones best.

They're petty shit that you really never need to worry about.
Sure, why not
I'm gonna show up in a bear costume with the horse head Be ready (I don't actually live close enough to philly to do this but I WOULD)
you're making subway sound so horrible with all this non compliance talk, I'm willing to bet almost all fast food is the same though.
No doubt it is. Actually, talking about it here is technically against the rules. It is Subway's "official policy" that employees are "not to talk about inside business information" to people outside the franchise. Saw it in some random manager pamphlet. But fuck that, ha. The non-compliance shit gets really annoying, though. For example, my shop is now on probation because we failed too many of the pettiest things. For example, bread trays not in use weren't placed upside down on the shelf (really?) When we take stuff from the freezer into the fridge to thaw for the next day's use, we're to put a tag on it with "date, time and initials". A bunch of our chicken strips had the date and time, but no initials, each lack being one point toward non-compliance. Seriously, who the fuck cares who put the bags five feet from the freezer to the cooler when we know the important stuff of when? That, and apparently all open bags of sauces have to be stored in individual cambros to prevent "cross contamination". It doesn't take even common sense not to let the sauces spill into each other. [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
Compliances are a joke. They're petty shit that you really never need to worry about.
Our inspector the past three months has gone on a nazi rampage of every possible thing imaginable. Crazy things that's never bothered her for, literally, years now are a MAJOR issue.
get a prep-pal. Makes shit easy as fuck. Also, we, my crew, made a rule: NO OPEN SAUCE. brb, lemme go find my employee manual
Apparently my store would bomb most U.S. compliance tests I guess. Then again, we failed our last one as the vegetable slicers still had vegetable debris caught in them.
I'm gonna show up in a bear costume with the horse head Be ready (I don't actually live close enough to philly to do this but I WOULD)
Where do you live, haha? The owner of my shop owns like a dozen Subways throughout New Jersey and a couple in PA and I sometimes have to go to one of those to fill in absentees :v: Though, in South Jersey since that's where I live.
Apparently my store would bomb most U.S. compliance tests I guess. Then again, we failed our last one as the vegetable slicers still had vegetable debris caught in them.
I honestly don't see how any store can perfectly be in compliance with every single rule. Some of them just down right hinder business, like how many types of cookies to sell. The veggie slicer is an easy fix, just rinse it off really well right after use and then keep it out to do better washing later.
Also, does it bug the living hell that you HAVE to use IE for the university of Subway shit
