Ask your manager about one!
That's a nifty device, but I can tell you now my boss will just tell us to stick to the masking tape we use to label everything. The reason we failed that one was because we've got two new employees and they're still catching on how to do stuff and the one girl who moved the stuff into the cooler I guess forgot to put her initials there. Just happened to be the night before the inspection.
Man, I hate new people so much. They can't cut onions right for shit.
Also, does it bug the living hell that you HAVE to use IE for the university of Subway shit
I actually never touched the University of Subway stuff. Probably a non-compliance too! :v:
Pretty sure talking about Subway, its business, how we do things, me posting photos, etc. are all against our contracts and we could be fired for it.

You're giving the terrorists information
7/11 was an inside job

That is....wow. Just wow.
Do they teach you how to open the door to get into the shop as well?

Corporation: "Let's change the dough and say it'll stretch to fit the pan on it's own!"
-six months later-
Franchises: "It's not doing it right"
Corporation: "You must be doing it wrong, can't be us. Let us reteach you!!"
Honestly it sounds exactly like the warehouse I work in, except more dust, razor sharp leaded glass, and snowflakes made of Phosphorous. :v:

Right down to the back assward corporate policies and rules.

Myself and another coworker are going to bet a months pay against our owners (if we win, we get double pay for 80 hours) that we can run the store more efficiently and correctly than they can.

My owner visits the shop around two or three times every few months, at that.
Last month during the raging holiday season, he stopped by when we were both really busy and short a person, so he hopped onto the register to try to help.....bad idea.
He didn't know how to pay with a credit card. Didn't know how to access the points to redeem them. He didn't know how to add points :v:

Everytime my owner comes, we tell him to leave because all he does is bitch about our work. My manager takes him out back, smokes a cig, and tells him to leave

Ours doesn't bitch, but sometimes I seriously wonder how it's possible to own nearly a dozen franchises and not know how to run the most basic of things in them.
He also started giving 10% discounts to random people in line to encourage them to "come back". My manager freaked out at that, haha.

I give my discount to people who come up $1 short.
Also, to showcase the bullshit at subway: They threatened to fire me because I kept an interior door open

Anyway. Subway homies, im going to bed.
I expect a Subway thread tomorrow so that we can let this one die
I'd make a thread, but I'm too tired as well and I have the first day of my classes tomorrow.
G'night as well.
I miss Birthday Berry.
I miss Birthday Berry.
they're coming back next month. they shipped them on the 17
So, I'm in need of a job terribly, and this thread has sparked my interest in working at Subway.
Would you guys recommend it?
The correct response from subway would be to issue a limited time loyalty card, where buying 12 footlong's gets you all 12 of the inches you missed out on; ie: another footlong.

No, because a shorter sandwich is a wider sandwich.

Yeah, as much as I hate minimum wage work, Subway is pretty cool as far as shitty jobs go. At least my franchise is.
No, because a shorter sandwich is a wider sandwich.
Or a denser one, since it's at least the same mass of bread.

Subway bread is considered nominal if its +/- 1/4" from 12"

If you need a job, go for it. Expect to make minimum wage though

The labor itself is easy enough, just know that most of working there is cleaning prepping food.
Wage is usually minimum, unless you get a nice owner like I do. All Subways are franchises and thus their human resources for each shop differs from owner to owner.
I've dealt with slave driving owners, inept owners, shitty owners and awesome owners (my current one). So if you fail at working at one Subway, you may have an opportunity to work at another down the street if you can get along with the people there better or not.

That still sounds a lot better than McDonald's or Wendy's or other fast food places.
I think the one I'll be applying at might be one of the somewhat chill types, the last time I drove by there they were getting ready to close down like an hour early and there was one person working in the store.
What's the policy on food working there, does it vary store by store?
I'd hate to get fired for walking in with some huge Sonic drink in the morning.

afaik, you can bring whatever the fuck you want. We've ordered pizzas, take out, and other items while working without punishment.

That works out fucking amazingly because there's a Domino's pizza literally just next door.
Oh lord, I already have the bright idea to order a sub from them.
My Subway is in a food court to a mall. We buy all kinds of stuff from the other places and so do they from us.

just cant trade them for shit.
[sp]We dont trade, but we have a "contract" that gives us 50% off pizzas[/sp]

Well damn.
50% is still good when the pizzas tend to be around 12-18 bucks here.
I'm pretty sure its against contract. Its more of a gentlemen's deal
