I have a Nexus S, but I also had an iPhone 3G and a 3GS for their full contract length (24 months each), and even if I had never seen the Nexus, had stayed iPhone, and was humming along on the 4 I probably wouldn't upgrade. There's no "killer feature" there that's saying "holy shit, you gotta upgrade or you're getting left in the DUST" like the 4 did, for instance (retina display, bitchin' fast 3000, front camera blah blah). It's fine as a replacement for the 4, but not as an upgrade.
If the iPhone 4S looks exactly like the iPhone 4, then what was all those larger and smoothed back cases from various designers are about?
I just hate Apple because they overprice everything. My EVO 4G cost lest than half of what an iPhone cost and can do double the amount of work and has a much larger screen and more flexibility in terms of customization.
I just despise them for stealing money. If they actually sold their products for what it was relaly worth, then I would not only respect them more (even if it doesn't matter, but as an inidvidual this is simply my opinion), but I would probably end up buying a bit more of their products.
I have to admit, the Mac OS isn't too bad. It has a lot of snazzy effects and whatnot and it's pretty sleek. That being said it's compatibility with applications and even it's hardware limitations are shit and I'd much rather have a custom built, much more affordable Windows computer any day.

they'll add a tiny physical keyboard thats impossibly hard to use then say they did it first and sue people
just watch man
that or it'll look exactly the same, BUT IT HAD A NEW SPEAKER ADDED along with free flash capabilities for 50$
OH AND A FREE CASE for 30$
Yeah, I understand the principle. My question was how can you defend and buy from a company when you know and acknowledge that they make their money by exploiting narcissistic assholes who spend ridiculous amounts of money to desperatly try and look cool while simultaniously trying to slow down their competition who actually try to innovate with their products.
This:
God we get it you like the iPhone. Beyond that I really feel we have reached an impasse like every other apple related thread. I could go on about how people still buy Microsoft products even after all their lawsuits and how Apple is responsible for bringing tablets and smartphones out off the office building and into the hands of normal people. But in the end it comes down to what The Baconator said, I like my iPhone, my iPad, along all my other apple products and that's ok, something facepunch can't put their head around.

I suppose you are right, i'm know I'm not going to pursuade anyone away from Apple. It just annoys me that a company can get so successful from such a bullshit business model. I do admit that they basically made smart phones what they are but they can't seem to keep up with everyone else now that the idea is out there. I'm sure the same thing will happen with tablets eventually aswell, maybe not though, i've always seen tablets as a big waste of money.
what a timely release.

This is so true, I mean just look at the micro USB adapater, its going to go on sale for £8. £8 for something that every single smart phone (that is sold in Europe anyway) has built in.
Which reminds me, I forgot to do this when I posted the link.

The fact that microsoft has had lawsuits doesnt make their product inferior, and the fact that apple was "first" doesnt mean they're better.
Also, it tends to contribute to the discussion more if you justify any amount of your reasoning in a debate, rather than "i like apple products". It makes you look silly if the majority of observable facts point towards it being an inferior device, which in turn makes you look like a fanboy (whether you are or not, is irrelevant). Its not that we dont understand you like apple, its that "i like apple because i like apple, why cant you guize just cant understand that". Its a logical fallacy. Reasonable people dislike logical fallacies :v:
I'd buy one.
It makes me die inside to know yet again apple release another piece of shit the same as the last yet stupid retarded fanboys and non tech savvy people will buy it then proclaim it to be the technological equivalent of the second coming.......god i fucking hate this world.
How does syncing music work with the GSII? Drag and drop? Is there a joint media player that handles files like iTunes?

Drag and Drop or Google Music Beta (cloud solution which has been around for months)

Every company has asshole lawyers who ruin it for everyone its just some get off easier because of some biases. Also I agree with you that just because something is first does not make it better, just look at the first iPhone. The thing was terrible but it had a big role in what the cellphone market is today and apple at least deserves some credit.
As for the logical fallacies I get that too. The last few pages I and other people gave some examples and posted charts of comparison. The post you quoted was more of a "I agree to disagree with you" post because in the end it all comes down to if you like the product or not regardless of its bells and whistles. I like iOS, other don't and there is no getting around that. If facepunch is to truly have a real conversation about what makes a computer or a phone or anything electronic they need to look beyond the sum of its parts. Facepunch need to look at how the product shapes the world and not just how the product is shaped. We need to actually sit down and talk about it in a way that does not promote lashing out at others just because they like something. While at the same time both parties need to see that there are just things that the other can't agree on.
Its one thing to like a product, its another to love it, and its a completely different thing to put into hating the product to the point of obsession.
As someone that has an iPhone 4, if there were two things I've value having an improvement on, it'd be battery life and the camera. I mean, there isn't much more I'd want my phone to do, anyway. If the battery life was improved, I could play games longer/have the opportunity to watch more videos, and not be so conscience about the battery as I usually am. And I dunno about other people, but I take a ton of pictures with my iPhone, usually of nice locations since I live on the coast of Nova Scotia, and so an improvement on the camera would be awesome. The pictures are pretty nice already.

Of course, this doesn't really warrant a new phone, but the improvements are at least beneficial. I don't really know what else I'd want my phone to do anyway..maybe if they enabled flash, that'd make it do everything I'd ever want/need it to do. Could care less about voice control, I'd feel awkward giving commands to my phone in public, since I'm usually in class or at a library or something. Rather just use the screen.

WWAD (What Would Apple Do)
The funny thing is, Apple could just implement Dalvik in iOS so you could more easily port Android apps to iOS.
Though, if you do that, the problem is, why would you want to create a native iOS program when you can just do it for Android and port it way more faster to iOS than if you wrote a native client from the start, again.

Drag and drop, or set the music player to sync to a folder on the device ( driveletter:/MUSIC )
How much do you have to pay a month on the 2 year contract?
It really depends on what plan you get, and how many phones are on the same contract. My mother and I have two iPhone 4's on the same plan and we pay around $150 - $160 a month for unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited texts, and 2gb of data. This is through At&t. Having two phones on the same contract actually makes it cheaper for both of us. Having just one phone is usually around $100 - $130 a month for the same features.
