Oh dear God thats horrible. I couldnt wish that on anybody. You'd think there'd be some kind of fail safe on these things, but I cant imagine how you'd do it.
They do have fail-safe table saws. It detects electrical conductivity in the skin, but sometimes also gets a false positive on wet wood. With a wood chipper you would probably be cutting more wet wood than with a table saw.
The idea of seeing your own child coming out of the end of a wood chipper is the most sickening thing I've envisioned of in a very, very long time. I feel so, so sorry for that poor father and that whole family. I really hope they pull through it.
Holy crap this is a disturbing thing to happen to a 6 year old kid I can hardly put it into words. Like this scenario seems to be straight out of a horror movie (i.e. Final Destination) but in real life. The father must be absolutely scarred and devastated seeing his son get killed in such a horrifying fashion. My condolences to the father and the family.
