Seems like a lot of the people who got into Pendulum and electronic music in general was because of that one TF2 video that one dude made with all the bots coordinated to Propane Nightmares.
I actually started listening Pendulum because of NFS Undercover. I got interested after hearing Granite and got whole In Silico album, and in that time my whole musical taste changed drastically.
changed drastically in to mediocre drum and bass
pendulum and knife party are both pretty shite
thats your opinion
its also wrong
wasn't a huge fan of immersion or w/e, but i listen to hold your colour like every week and still enjoy in silico
this is good news for me

Yeah, that's how I discovered them, I'll admit. Though I've always been big on electronica (I mean, hell: my brother's in an electro-rock fusion band not unlike these guys. Though he's more prog than DnB.)
Hey: at least it's better than 360-noscope videos.
pendulum and knife party are both pretty shite
pendulum were amazing with hold your colour, became alright with in silico, became shite with immersion. knife party are really shit
Eh, In Silico was one of the most disappointing albums I've ever listened to. I guess a lot of you will disagree, but that's just me. Immersion wasn't much better (apart from Island Pt.2, of course!).
Pendulum started off producing amazing neurofunk. As they progressed they shyed away from that but kept it pretty dark, and ended up with amazing songs like Bacteria, Voyager, etc. Eventually they settled into their Hold Your Colour style, which is to this day one of my favourite albums. It still retains a bit of their darker side too, with Axle Grinder in particular.
I don't understand how they went from that to pseudo-rock with some heavy drums and annoying lyrics, but hey, as long as they're bringing aural joy to some people I guess they're doing their job.

See, I wasn't a big fan of their heavy Hold Your Colour days; I preferred them once they moved into their later smoother sound. Funny you mention Island, 'cuz the first half is probably my favorite song of theirs.
What the hell are you guys smoking, Immersion was just full of awesome: The Island, Crush, Watercolour, Witchcraft, Set Me On Fire, Under The Waves, The Vulture... Pretty much not a bad song on the whole album.
I don't think Pendulum could even make a bad song though.
But anyways, FUCK YEAH.
I hung out with pendulums old drummer backstage at a music festiv a while back. He was pretty chill but I didn't even realise he was from pendulum till after I spoke with him.
Pendulum has a drummer? I always thought it was a programmed beat.
DCH TSCHK, DH-TSCHK, DCH TSCHK, DH-TSCHK
Standard drum and bass beat for most of their songs I've listened to

live songs like at the brixton academy, they have a drummer on a control surface drumkit. Good idea in theory, sounds dreadful live as the drummer wasn't very good with timing.

Gears of War montages for me :v: Pendulum seem to have been quite popular with Gears 1 montages.
an actual party involving pendulums and knives would be pretty interesting.
Broke my foot watching Knife Party. Their fans all seem to take MD and don't give a shit about anyone else
If it's anything like this

it'll be shit
loved pendulums pre album releases and hold your colour, from then on it started to stray away from what dnb really is but it was still a good sound
not a fan of knife party though, americanised edm stuff isn't my thing. nice to hear that they're getting back together, I doubt they'll ever produce anything as good as their early 2000's stuff since they made everything from In Silico onwards with live shows in mind
New Pendulum album? Cool. Just hope that they can steer away from the 174BPM kick-snare kick-snare thing, because once I noticed that I couldn't ignore it and it really, really bothered me.
They make drum & bass you spoon, that's what it is.
And to all the people shitting on Knife Party; it's not really fair to compare the two as they are very different things.

Knife part is just 2 of the 6 members of pendulum, the experience Rob swire got from doing knife part would probably have som innfluence, hopefully not too much

You could hear it in Immersion that Rob really wanted to make more electro house style music. Just look at The Island Pt 2. I think now that he has Knife Party he'll find it easier to keep Pendulum to DnB.
You guys, Pendulum is totally different from Knife Party, it's pretty clear that Rob and Gareth weren't feeling as inspired to create more music-heavy pendulum music, and obviously wanted to take a more club-oriented route, it's only the most possible factor, since the domination of EDM in the past few years.
Hell yes, can't wait. I've seen Pendulum twice and Knife Party once, but I'm seeing them on Sunday and again in November.
Pendulum are far better live than Knife Party though from what I've seen, a shame he said they probably won't tour
I love both Pendulum and Knife Party. Rob and the DJ wanted to do other kind of music, let them. At this point they make music for themselves, not fans. Can't wait if these two albums are somehow connected :)
You can either just like or not like it.
Both are excellent on their own genres, even tho both in my opinion work across multiple genres.
Pendulum made some pretty dope shit

Past 2:35 turns fucking amazing
Knife Party, not so much of a fan, but they're doing alright stuff like that one song that was on Breaking Bad
I actually like Knife Party, they're pretty fun for parties. Internet Friends is a pretty good song.

ah screw you hahaha
Awww yeah pendulum, I personally don't like knife party that much since its pretty much plain dubstep.
Hopefully they still keep their trademark drum and bassiness.

Buddy..... It's called drum and bass.
You know, thats the type of music pendulum produces... They are a drum and bass group.
Seriously, I can't believe I just read that. lol
They are the reason this genre exploded in the early 2000s. Read up on the history of the genre that you didn't even know you were listening to.

Maybe he meant that drum and bass isn't limited by the "mainstream" kick-snare style. But Pendulum pretty much made it popular, so it is kinda their style
hold your colour was a shit album dnb-wise.
