I agree. SR2 had a better story, a more living world, better customization. More stuff. SR3 was "hurr giant dildos"
SR3 had better driving, shooting mechanics etc, it also looked and ran about 10000x better and was therefore massively more fun to play
As if SR1 and SR2 were any more serious with flaming ATV rampages and running around in a hotdog suit killing people?
The story in SR2 was mostly serious and had several dark moments, such as [sp]Aisha's death.[/sp]
As if SR1 and SR2 were any more serious with flaming ATV rampages and running around in a hotdog suit killing people?
in sr2, your character doesn't take part in the majority of silly things and acts like just normal things are happening, whereas in sr3, your character actively takes part in all of the silliness, as if silliness is the norm in this reality
Since the article mentions shedding legacy obligations, I'm guessing some past deal they made didn't pan out. For example, maybe they got financing and spent it developing a MMO game that never saw the light of day. Now they owe that money back and have no way to pay it. That would explain why they expect current development to continue. The current stuff has nothing to do with whatever sucked up their money.
If it was an MMO then it could have been Dark Millennium Online
The character in Saints Row 2 does a lot of weird shit like surfing bodies and attacking buildings with helicopters. They just made it more extravagant in Saints Row 3.
So... in all seriousness.. should I risk it and buy some THQ stock? Or do you think it'll be taken off the Nasdaq soon?
I actually believe they are going down because of uDraw's failure and the whole company turned into a roller coaster Heck, they even got sued over its design
Wow, that Udraw thing was a disaster, certainly big enough to put them in a hole they weren't going to get out of any time soon. Especially since they were stuck with about a million and half basically unsellable devices, with no hope of developing a market for them. That's money they're never going to see again.
The story in SR2 was mostly serious and had several dark moments, such as [sp]Aisha's death.[/sp]
SR2 had things like this: SR3 had... nothing like that. I don't even remember any of the cutscenes, really.
We could start a fundraiser or something, to help them out....I don't think it'd do any good, but....
Kickstarter. :v:
Is Dawn of War 3 off the agenda now though?
I'm not sure we would want a DoW3. RTS games are a dying breed and DoW2 was a watered down version of CoH. DoW1 was fun but when I look back, it had some silly shit.
Companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy before and come back, you guys need to be more optimistic instead of just saying stuff like, "RIP Relic, and 4A.".
I think it's more that people don't understand how Chapter 11 bankruptcy works.
This might interest some people. http://www.thq.com/us/go/article/view/homepage_article/261277/thq_community_message_from_jason_rubin?utm_source=Social&utm_medium=General&utm_campaign=THQ

It's fair they didn't just want to recreate what DoW1 was and they tried something new.
