Second, Nazis actually used something much worse (though to be fair, it wasn't the intended use): there was an attatchment for the StG-44 that was basically a curved barrel, meant to allow the user to shoot around corners. Obviously, this was totally retarded and it didn't work, but what did happen is the bullet shattered the metal and sent shards flying forward. They'd actually use this as basically a shotgun that shot hot metal.

I'm saying, given the option the police wouldn't have even been there. They didn't choose this, the rioters did. Yet another way of showing the police's reaction was inevitable after the protesters' actions.
Also this is an image taken from the occupy Atlanta protest, the other police intervention that happened today. This was before the arrests started when the police were just standing on the perimeter asking protesters to leave

It seems that for the longest time every second post in every Occupy related thread was something either saying that no good will come of it or a sly jab at the protesters.
It sickens me that general apathy has reached a stage where it seems the people stop protests which would benefit everyone just by failing to give enough of a shit to care and instead quipping about how it won't go anywhere

Are M80s or anything else the protesters were throwing capable of causing injuries on the same level of severity as some of the protesters suffered, when used against police in full riot gear

I somehow doubt that strategic placement of teargas canisters and the firing of rubber bullets was triggered accidentally by an M80 startling an officer
