From what you've said regarding your personal feelings for homosexuality, you are homophobic, but you do make some small effort to suppress the feelings of hostility towards homosexuality. I think that's commendable, but I don't think it's the problem here. People are bashing on you, and you seem convinced that's because your opinion is different from theirs. That's the problem here. I'm sure some people are doing it for simply that reason, but espousing the attitude that everyone here is simply motivated by the difference of your opinion is deeply harmful to your ability to rationally evaluate your own opinion. If you assume people are being disagreeable just for disagreeableness' sake, then you'll never have a fruitful argument. I'd rather have arguments that were worth my time since I consider it fairly valuable. Most of the people arguing with you are actually trying to help you think for yourself, not conform to a sheeple majority, but in order to do that, you need to be able to think rationally. Rational thinking is a very valuable commodity, and is universally valued because it's pretty damn useful. These people are just trying to point out the irrational elements of your opinion, so that you can better examine them and create your own replacements that are more rational. You're entitled to an opinion. That's a freedom everyone is born with, just like everyone else. An opinion is a powerful entitlement, and with great power comes great responsibility. You have a duty to have an opinion with integrity, that is informed by knowledgeable and rational thinking. This is why, when we're sick, we value the opinion of a medical expert over the opinion of a voodoo witch-doctor. I think you really ought to evaluate your sentiments regarding homosexuality. You're upset by homosexual conduct, which seems to be your overarching problem with homosexuals. Why does the idea of homosexual conduct bother you so much? Maybe you don't exactly know because that's an irrational feeling you experience. It seems to me, you already recognize that as an irrational thought, hence your repeated pleas that you don't have problems with homosexuals, just seeing them do their thing. I ask you, if you think this is an irrational reaction, how does it benefit you to maintain this sentiment? If you don't think this is irrational, then you'll have an explanation for why you're so disgusted with homosexuality, which you can put forth when people ask you why you have a problem with homosexual conduct. If you have some rational basis for your sentiments, people are far more likely to accept your opinions, and far less likely to criticize you for your beliefs.
