You're right. We should use a Vacuum cleaner to suck up all the oil. Someone call in Dyson.

[editline]06:24PM[/editline]

But 9/11 was on purpose
Blanket blame a whole population of people because an oil rig went kaput.
Funny how every American gets blamed for stuff all the time...
But 9/11 was on purpose
And was done by the US Government!
Funny how every American gets blamed for stuff all the time...
American citizens don't really get blamed.
American companies and the American military gets away with a lot though.
I still don't get the camp Zeist thing...
The oil spill is more like Katrina, and nothing like 9/11.
what about the netherlands?
and don't forget Poland!
I'll bet Obama's right. If we get off lucky enough this will be enough to give oil a bad name and expand alternative heating methods and hydrogen cars.
hydrogen may be the most abundant element in the universe but because it is difficult to find in its pure form on earth you need to separate it out from water and in the end you will be getting less energy out of it than what it took to get the hydrogen. as of now, hydrogen fuel cells are an inefficient idea, and it's best to think more about biodiesel or something.
We really need to use fuels derived from fats and cellulose, plants can't poison entire oceans when the goal is to harvest them, fat is just fat.
Biofuel is the way forward, crude oil really should be used for other uses besides energy.
"In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come."
Actually, he's pretty right.
Actually, he's pretty right.
It's a totally valid point. It's just a lot of people are somehow only seeing the words "Same" "9/11" and "Oil Spill" and then freaking out.
Will you randomly invade oil rigs now, america?
The oil spill is more like Katrina, and nothing like 9/11.
Wait untill hurricane season. if you thought katrina was bad, wait till the first hurricane starts to pick up all the oil.
It's rainin oil?? :toot:
Fucking British.
(User was banned for this post ("Xenophobia" - SteveUK))
Yes because the entire of britan got around a big table and said "How can we fuck over america?"
You really are a moron.
A purposeful suicide attack committed by a group of extremists is comparable to an accident related to a British company?
Obama, what are you smoking?
Edit: I want some.
The oil spill is more like Katrina, and nothing like 9/11.
except the oil leak isn't a natural disaster
[editline]04:48PM[/editline]
I'd compare it to exxon valdez except much worse
except the oil leak isn't a natural disaster
It wasn't a terrorist attack either.
Will you randomly invade oil rigs now, america?
Every post you make causes me to cringe
It wasn't a terrorist attack either.
Comparing one thing to another does not mean you are saying it's the exact same thing.

It's comparable in the way that it will affect how vulnerable we know we are to such events.

Did anyone actually read the OP?
uh, they had nothing to do with it.
"I have cancer, FUCK YOU ZIMBABWE!"
Are you going to impose a bill that removes more rights from the American people, just like 9/11, Obama?
Fucking British.
(User was banned for this post ("Xenophobia" - SteveUK))
Lol! Hands down the shittiest ban I've ever seen.
No one fucking reads anything anymore.
Obama did not compare it to 9/11 except for the change in awareness this will cause to the issue at hand.
Are you going to impose a bill that removes more rights from the American people, just like 9/11, Obama?
Yeah, blame Obama for something that he never did! That will show him!
Read the goddamn article.

It was a joke in reference to "The disaster will "shape how we think about the environment... for years to come", he told US website Politico" in relation to how America is so concerned with terrorism since 9/11 and the Freedom Act that was passed.
But okay. Also, I'm aware that Bush's administration implemented that bill. Nice try at being a smartass. Maybe you should reevaluate your reading comprehension skills.

Coming from the guy stating it wasn't a natural disaster? Oh how I love hypocrisy...
It's comparable in the way that it will affect how vulnerable we know we are to such events.

Yes, I understand that, but it's still a shitty comparison. Any two completely unrelated things can be compared in such a way. The vulnerability of the USA to bad weather can be compared to the vulnerability of the USA to Japanese aggression by comparing Hurricane Katrina to Pearl Harbour.

Because regulations regarding multinational oil companies will really have an impact on your everyday life right?
