We really need to use fuels derived from fats and cellulose, plants can't poison entire oceans when the goal is to harvest them, fat is just fat. Biofuel is the way forward, crude oil really should be used for other uses besides energy.

The vulnerability of the USA to bad weather can be compared to the vulnerability of the USA to Japanese aggression by comparing Hurricane Katrina to Pearl Harbour.
