IX isn't even acknowledged as existing, and it sold poorly. Look at how Kingdom Hearts had characters from 7,8 and 10. Look at how 7,8, and 10 get HD PC ports and cool art in newer games etc.

maybe because the ff9 characters weren't designed by tetsuya nomura so he couldn't use those characters in kingdom hearts???
An offhand comment by a Team Ico dev launched a near decade of secret searching in Shadow of the Colossus. Yet, I think a whole one thing has been found unfortunately.
Could you clarify what the dev said and what secret they were on about? I very recently read that article about the 'Last Big Secret' in Shadow of the Colossus, and came across all that stuff about finding a dam and whatnot (really cool by the way, this stuff's always fascinated me to no end, I used to LOVE hunting for this sort of stuff in games). But I can't find any mention about what dev's said to spur searching...
sadly most FF fans hate or ignore IX because it's a throwback to older non-Anime RPG's. Also it got overshadowed by the PS2's release
9 is a HUGE fan favorite. 8 is the one that's completely ignored.

Vivi was in Kingdom Hearts 2.
Vivi was in Kingdom Hearts 2.
Where?
Well, time to start playing the Final Fantasy games again.
In my opinion, FF9 was the last great game in the series. It doesn't even feel like the same series anymore.
FF10 was the last good one I think.
FF10 was the last good one I think.
sorry but the only ones worth playing are pre-7 ff's, ff9, and ff12. all other ff's are pretty bad.
Talk about replay value.
Where?
.. The 'tutorial' Twilight Town you spend the first two or three hours in, where you fight him as a boss fight, see him around multiple times and is part of the FF8 gang? Yeah, that wasn't a random Black Mage homage, that was Vivi.
9 still holds a special place in my heart for being the first FF game I ever played and actually completed. I remember being confused as fuck of the plot though, since I was like 10 or 11 and my english was utter crap at that point.
This quest is actually well known in Japan, the game guides there for some reason include it while all non-Japanese guides don't.
Makes you wonder how many games there are that have never before seen content right beneath our noses
WoW had a thread about this on the forums like 4 years ago for a long time, and reached about 300 pages. It was about hidden quests that were never discovered.

If memory serves me correctly, didn't the official US Guide for FF 9 deliberately have large amounts of information withheld to get people to go to some website that supposedly never worked for those bits of information? I could swear I remember hearing that was the case back then and this very quest could be one of those withheld scraps.
Never played FF9, I got bored with FF8 and never really picked up the series again.
8 is dogshit. 9 is wonderful
8 is dogshit. 9 is wonderful
just to clear things up a bit, I have played Final Fantasy games before (FF6 is probably one of my favorite games). I got up to 8 and lost interest.
I'll probably play 9 when I get the chance to.

Correct.
Was that Cinna and Marcus thing at the end just a random Julius Caesar reference?

...have you played the game at all?
...have you played the game at all?
nope!
shameful confession, never played any FF game except bits of the first two.

Jeeze, it was years ago, and it was pretty much just "Maybe there is something big left for players to find. " I took a look for the quote, but I couldn't find anything, it was part of the Playstation forums humongous "Let's look for the last big secret" thread. Unfortunately the OP in that thread has changed so many times over the years, losing the original quote that set the whole thing off.
