newsflash politicians lie about everything
it must be nice to cruise through life not thinking about anything critically and living by ridiculous platitudes instead
I actually listened to this in the background, it actually sounded like fiction at some points because of the ridiculous sounding claims and such.
it must be nice to cruise through life not thinking about anything critically and living by ridiculous platitudes instead
I rated you agree This doesn't happen often
it must be nice to cruise through life not thinking about anything critically and living by ridiculous platitudes instead
id say about as nice to judge so harshly on a simple joke
id say about as nice to judge so harshly on a simple joke
how was it even a joke? Everyone says it all the time, or some paraphrase
how was it even a joke? in all seriousness, was nixion REALLY a bad guy? opening up China, nuclear disarmament treaties, anti antibalistic missile bans, authorizing the space shuttle and Skylab, making the first phone call to the surface of the moon, stepping down the tensions between the USSR and the U.S. and NATO, peace in vietnam (until the north botched it up and invaded again) was he really the warmonger that pop culture portrays him as? [editline]18th March 2013[/editline] also the BBC article goes to great lengths to make him seem like a bad guy, it doesn't even cite any parts or reports showing that LBJ even knew that Nixon was behind the south pulling out of the negotiations, just says that LBJ was certain that Nixon was involved because he had him investigated, that doesn't equate to Nixon caused this, and it would certainly explain why he was so paranoid as a president, wiphen he can't even run for election without being called a traitor and being spied on by the orders of the guy he was trying to replace

What's not to say about your previous president, George W Bush for committing treason? Which US president never have an evil dark secrets before? I am pretty sure your George Washington was plotting to betray the native Americans after the revolution. Or there was a missing US president that got removed from history somewhere along the lines
Guys, I'm starting to get the feeling this Nixon guy was kind of a terrible person.

And the Native Americans were on the side of the British during the revolution because the British prevented the colonists from expanding into the Ohio river valley. The natives were against the American revolution.

That alone makes him a horrible, horrible president and person.
From the US constitution: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." What he did was definitely treason alright.
And how does continuing the war against the enemy give them aid and comfort again?
the prolong a war you not only have to ease off the enemy but also aid them.
To prolong a war you don't have to aid an enemy in any way at all
Nixon may have prolonged a war for his own benefit, but Reagan supplied paramilitaries with arms knowing full well they would commit atrocities. You've really had a few totally morally corrupt presidents.
To prolong a war you don't have to aid an enemy in any way at all
Deliberately not winning is surely aiding
Probably not technically treason but it probably should be, he acted like a megadick. He basically continued an illegitimate and bloody war just to achieve his own ends.
By prolonging the war, thousands more American troops died when the war could've instead ended sooner; wouldn't that count as treason?
