do they really?
It's obvious, the Vatican for years has always had money on their mind, kept preaching about anti-abortions and why homosexuals are demons, then when Pope Francis walks through the door and people ask him for his thoughts on abortions and same sex marriage he goes "What about poor people?", then starts blessing other religions, giving money to the poor is mopping the shit out off the Vatican.
konrad krajewski is a great name. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline] say it with a rough brooklyn accent
Weren't people originally bitching because Francis wasn't a European? Plot twist.. ...Pope Francis actually goes out of his way to help people.
As archbishop of Buenos Aires, when he was known as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the future pontiff “would go out at night . . . to find [homeless] people, talk with them, or buy them something to eat. He would sit with them and eat with them on the street.
I don't know about you guys, but i think this pope is pretty incredible.
as great as doing this sorta stuff is, i wonder how long it will last. "great reformers" often get killed or ousted when they try to move an organization in a certain direction too quickly. the "upper crust" of the church has gotten away with corruption and excessive wealth for a long time, will they let the pope erode that? even if he isn't killed, he will die eventually. what happens when a new pope arrives? he could set the church back to where it was before francis. compared to every other pope(and the church in general), francis is hardly the worst. still, i can only hope that the changes stick. maybe one day i will get the chance to say that the catholic church isn't one of the worst institutions on this earth.
The last time a pope did something like this (wanting to share the riches of the vatican with the poor), he was murdered in less than a month after it was elected. I hope it doesn't happen this time
This shit makes me so happy, even my old school Catholic Grandfather likes him.
The last time a pope did something like this (wanting to share the riches of the vatican with the poor), he was murdered in less than a month after it was elected. I hope it doesn't happen this time
But when was that? If it happened in 1291 or something I think we're okay.
But when was that? If it happened in 1291 or something I think we're okay.
It happened to John Paul I during the late 70s, he only lasted 33 days as a pope
It happened to John Paul I during the late 70s, he only lasted 33 days as a pope
Oh. Then I guess there is something of a modern precedent. Still, not only would such a murder be very high profile, but investigation has come a long way in the intervening years. I don't know that it would still be possible to get away with.
How many theoretical physicists of that calibre do you expect to see walking into a club?
Considering Richard Feynman was a total fucking player, who was most certainly of that calibre, I expect quite a few of them to be in clubs.
It happened to John Paul I during the late 70s, he only lasted 33 days as a pope
Lol conspiracy theories. Just because it's suspicious doesn't mean that it's definetly murder.
some of the vatican has connection to organized crime in italy. a "mob" taking out the pope would provide a good scapegoat. since pope's are chosen by the elite in the church, not by public opinion, "martyring" francis wouldn't necessarily impact the church as a whole. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline] it doesn't matter if people rally around the old pope's ideas when a new pope is chosen by the cardinals and he decides to carry on in a way that pleases the status quo.
You, as a faceless jack on the internet, are aware of their mob ties. I don't think they're dumb enough to kill the dude, it's way too obvious
How many theoretical physicists of that calibre do you expect to see walking into a club?
Albert Einstein got more ass than a woman's restroom toilet seat
WOW HE IS LITERALLY HITLER
Hitler was a good manipulator. Perhaps we've been manipulated by this pope.
Lol conspiracy theories. Just because it's suspicious doesn't mean that it's definetly murder.
It's obvious the greedy nazi's and their UFOs and their mecha hitler living under antarctica are going to kidnap the pope and then mecha hitler and mecha pope will destroy all freedom
Hitler was a good manipulator. Perhaps we've been manipulated by this pope.
Germany was in AWFUL condition at the time, pretty much anyone could have manipulated the german people.
And then it turns out he's actually Jesus. I wouldn't be surprised actually. Pope Francis is an exceptionally fantastic human being.
Well, he's a jesuit, so close enough. Jokes aside, this man seems like either a fantastic human being, or someone with a PR team that knows that they are doing. I'm leaning towards both. He seems genuinely likeable, not afraid to go against what has so far been the direction of the church. Instead he chooses to favor a general message of compassion and understanding. Granted, a lot of the things that are being touted as "Oh wow! Look how compassionate this pop is!" such as the washing of the poor and embracing those with disfiguring disabilities have been done before by each of his predecessors. So far though, I think he's a positive influence upon the catholic community and the world in general.
Yet more amazingness from BatPope.
pope francis is literally jesus christ without the super powers
Yeh, just like this:
Almost makes you forget he threatened to nuke the USA 5 times.
pope francis is literally jesus christ without the super powers
Do we know he doesn't have super powers?
