Here's a fun little interactive segment for y'all folks at home: without googling, what is the name of the current pope?
You will remember that the pope is a leader of (a sect of) the christian faith. Okay?
Do it for another, 'less persecuted' religion.

Not a great example considering most people don't even know who leads any of the other Christian sects and a lot of religions just don't have individual leaders. I guess some Bhuddist sects have pope-like leaders, Shinto's traditionally led by the Emperor of Japan (Although Shinto is a minority in Japan now), Islam used to have Caliphs but that title hasn't been used in nearly a century, and most cults have leaders but they're rarely recognized as religions.

The almighty God himself descended from the motherfucking heavens while I was eating my tea and handed me a silver scroll made with angel-woven silk and the hair of cherubs, and it read, in full:

helicopters might land there.

Several posters in this thread are flat out denying his claim that Christianity is the most persecuted relgion. But can you back it up?

While debatable, it seems to me like it's not an unreasonable claim. Check your prejudice.
ok but at the end of the day who the hell cares
It's not like people being persecuted based on their religion has ever caused any bad stuff in the past
ok but at the end of the day who the hell cares
I don't know what you're reffering to, persecution in general or which religion is the most persecuted.
If Christianity is the most persecuted religion, pointing it out may rid people of the false idea that christians can't "really be persecuted", because the pope is powerful, or lots of western nations are christian, or something.

That is such a subjective conclusions!
Does it include legislation that affects Christians specifically, or only legislation that is agains their beliefs.
Does it include religions who are more vocal against subjective opinions in open media?

I said it was debatable but hardly unreasonable.

*Semi pointless graph*
While debatable, it seems to me like it's not an unreasonable claim. Check your prejudice.
I'd say this is a misleading graph.
From your article, Jews make up less than 1% of the global population, yet experience persecution in 95 countries. 95 is 62.9% of 151. You'd expect far less based on the population percentages.
Also, with the way they've defined restrictions or harassment lots of banal things are potentially included, and there's no real measure of severity, or enforcement.
This might be an interesting graph from an international law perspective, but not so useful from a human rights perspective, or even as a means of quantifying the amount of damage done to religious groups.
I said it was debatable but hardly unreasonable.
It can be reasoned that specific beliefs are being "persecuted".. but is it persecution if one religion belief is that 'all people who are not white should be sentenced to death' is a terrible belief; I don't mean to introduce racism; but, using the tenant of a specific religion, as a form a persecution when the action from the sheer devotion being considered justified simply because it is religious seems quite unethical for secular reasons, in a secular society.
Get this nutcase out of power. I don't want the kind of man says nutty shit like this running the country.
Wait wait i know this, who are the Chinese?
He's right about Christians being the most persecuted in the world at least. Not in a 'We're FOX News and no one will listen to us way', but actual contempt in some parts of the world.
Judaism called. They want you to admit you're a tool.
No offense to any religious folks out there, but Christianity pretty much ISN'T the most persecuted, it's rather vice versa and it's the Christians doing the persecuting against other religions as it has been for centuries. And it's sad.
fun fact: EVERY RELIGION DID THIS,
look up the islamic sweep of north africa, it was convert, convert, or die
buddism and confucisim, and dauism, and shintoism all were state religions in various asian empires and that meant that anyone not in that religion was slaughtered, in confucisim's case, burned with all their scrolls.
that is the most over used argument ever, he's refering to modern times IE: the last 50 years, not 1000 years ago
Yep, the religion with the majority of followers around the world is being persecuted. v :v: v

Notice how it specifically says between 2006 and 2012. i don't think that's a very good indication of the now.
Notice how it also says that the severety of discrimination isn't recorded, which thus pretty much makes it say nothing about how bad Christians are discriminated. It also doesn't state its criteria for when discrimination is actually seen as discrimination. Does "not accepting jesus" already count as such?
Notice how it also doesn't say which countries are the ones recorded. Maybe they are all very small countries, both in size and population?

Yeah, the source of the graph only goes to 2012, however persecution of Christians supposedly spiked in 2013 - due to the Syrian civil war
Also, the source counts persecution as:
Harassment and intimidation by governments or social groups take many forms, including physical assaults; arrests and detentions; desecration of holy sites; and discrimination against religious groups in employment, education and housing. Harassment and intimidation also include things such as verbal assaults on members of one religious group by other groups or individuals.

The countries where most religious persecution occurred are shown as well, for social hostilities and government restrictions:

While I certainly don't doubt that Christians are prosecuted (They're were on the bad end of terrible violence in places like Mali), British Christians DON'T suffer the same percussion, and him making this speech to them as some sort of 'equal sufferers' is pandering bullshit.
And I thought it was bad enough he made that shitty movie Avatar.
Oh how I long for the day when people learn to fucking accept that there are other people who don't believe in the same things they do and will just learn to live and let live without either: A) forcing their own beliefs down the unbeliever's throats or B) trying to rip them a new one for being unbelievers.
