I dont think that "Man's best friend" is a good title to something that can attack without any provocation whatsoever.
Seriously, it's sad how people are still backwards enough to believe in generalization. You can't judge an entire species because of the actions of one, the animal could've gone through abuse and therefore do such things. You wouldn't label the entirety of India as rapists because a small percentage of them are guilty of that.
you have either never owned a cat or didnt treat it very well
I've owned two cats, both of which were rescued as kittens. The first one just slept everywhere and eventually passed due to mouth cancer, and my current one just sleeps everywhere and gets into fights. About 90% of the time he ever shows me affection is when I'm holding a tin of cat food. Played with him quite a bit when he was a kitten, though. But my dogs just love me all the damn time, no stopping. So my experience with cats vary vastly than with dogs. I'm sure many cats are loving, I've just never experienced one.

Fuck that shit my sisters dog is annoying as fuck, whines constantly too. Shitty ass dog.

It's really sad going through this thread because my dog has energy, but he busted both his knees many years ago, they healed/got repaired in surgery, but now he's so slow due to the pain. It's tough to literally see the end coming and just being anxious for it to be over. If he had mechanical legs I'd imagine he'd still be running, he has plenty of energy in the front of his body.
Just don't let them get in to the rum cake or they'll put a bucket on their head and plow straight through the television.
It was barely out of the box.
Oh god non, not those fucking dogs. My ex had one and holy fucking shit it was the dumbest, most mentally challeneged dog in existence. Bastard would just drool everywhere, bark for no particular reason and would attack anyone who went near the little girl in her family. I've had good experiences with dogs before but holy shit I swear dogs can be autistic too
Oh yeah, weimaraners. As a kid, my friend had one, and it was okay, I guess. There was one time it tried to bite my hand as I tried to pet it, but luckily I instinctively moved my hand out of the way. Thanks for looking out for me, subconscious. That was the only time it tried anything like that, though. Speaking of weimaraners...
Dogs are like the best thing that ever happened, i hate the fact we can't have one in our flat, one day ill get a place with a garden, and then ill get as many dogs as i can financially manage.
i'm sure they tried scanning a cat, but the initial results from just strapping it into an mri was sufficient enough to suggest cats hate humans
do you slap your cat to punish them when they bite you or something? Hint: That isn't how you treat cats
do you slap your cat to punish them when they bite you or something? Hint: That isn't how you treat cats
You could try, if you didn't like your fingers and wanted to get rid of them without a pesky trip to the surgeon. :v: The thing with cats is that you need to get them comfortable around humans during a very narrow window of their development, which makes all the difference. I had two cats - Max, one which I rescued as a very small kitten after the mother got run over by a car while trying to shift them (and the only kitty that let me rub its belly without taking a good chunk of my flesh) and another which just...showed up at my flat and decided to stay. That one was very friendly but also had boundaries.
Cats, however...
Kindergarten Facepunch is a real thing, it seems [editline]23rd November 2014[/editline]
But cats look you in the eyes as well.
That's what I was thinking. My cat looks me in the eyes as much as my dog does. Every time I call one of them, they turn to look at me and look me in the eyes.
My Dog just has one of those smiles. [t]https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t31.0-8/s960x960/1939711_10205084100852329_6968773139601152751_o.jpg[/t]
Weird, I can swear that my cat looks me in the eyes all the time.

She couldn't get up on the couch or go for a walk more than a few blocks without horrible limping. I switched her off her dog food (which was Blue Buffallo Wilderness) to fresh chicken, beef livers, and organ meats. She's been on that diet for about 8 months now and has lost 20 pounds and can sprint for half a mile. She's like a new dog again. Maybe you should try a fresh based diet. Also since it's a picture of your dog thread, here's my Boomer when she was a young girl. My favorite part is when they sleep like that but then start to make running movements because they're running in their dreams. My old dog used to do that all the time - I would give anything to see what kind of dreams he had, he seemed so happy in them.
He's dreaming about devouring the entrails of the innocent.
Having seen what he he used to do to his food bowl on his special treat day (Dad used to get some fancy dogfood which was only on Sundays, because he wanted to be fair and the cat was getting his own fish), I'd be inclined to believe you're right. The immediate area surrounding the dogbowl was a dogchow massacre. :v:
I never understood why calling someone a dog became an insult. Your dog loves you unconditionally, remains loyal till death and is generally an awesome friend...
I dont think that "Man's best friend" is a good title to something that can attack without any provocation whatsoever.
Dang. That's some waay backwards logic you got going there, buddy.
They are so cute! :3
The eye contact thing is interesting. I had never thought about it, but dogs are the only animals I know of that looks me in the eyes.
They're also one of the few animals that can follow your gaze and see what you're looking at.
My dad does not like dogs or cats and I probs won't have a place I'm allowed such things for at least another 5 years what do??

sacrifice him to the pet gods.
Your dog is skinny as fuck, are you feeding it well? No tick or flea infestations?
It's a saluki, that's how they're built. My dog's half saluki, half collie.
My fucking dog died. I had to have her put down by injection because she was suffering from diabetes and we only picked up on it very late unfortunately. She went blind in a period of 5 days, blew her kidneys in 2 weeks and so forth. We couldn't have her suffering anymore, so I took her in my arms to give her a last hug. Comforted her, since she was scared eversince she became blind so rapidly. I feel guilty as hell, for comforting her when the doctor stuck the needle in her. I feel like I betrayed her by comforting her, just before we killed her. Hurts man. Sucks hard knowing she felt this way about me... Kinda explains why she would 'know' when I was about to come home (always around 6pm) and she'd wait in front of the gate that leads to my carpark. If I was late, she'd wait as long as it took no matter if it rained or snowed and my girlfriend couldn't get her to come inside no matter what. Sweetest dog ever you were, Juultje. If I am to buy another dog again, I just hope it'll be half as amazing as you, because she'd be a damn good dog.
