• EA wants to be voted the best company in America

I personally can't stand origin, CRAZY amount of glitches. EA is a constant disappointment to me, especially from a sports gamer.
Or i could vote for Valve. Or ID Software. Or Bethesda. Or Rockstar Games.
Knock Valve out of there (All they've done in the last year is cosmetic items out of the ass for their games), maybe Bethesda too (Tend to rush their games, leaving a lot of unfinished content (Fallout New Vegas is the worst example of this, sadly.) Now Id and Rockstar, yeah, either of them could deserve that award.
To be fair who wouldn't want to be voted the best company in America? But to be real, EA likely won't be in the top 3 best game companies even after they have tried.
most of the closures were due to under-performance or games not turning out to be what they were intended to be. no matter how you look at it, its not entirely EA's fault, its a business
Taking bad moves and bad calls wasn't entirely there fault? Its completely there fault. The developers maybe not so much but the assholes in suits running the place completely.
at least they are realizing it
If EA were a person, then they would be the type who's incapable of getting a hint or understanding any joke without it being explained to them.
Spore + SimCity That is all.
I don't think, this is gonna happen.
Bullfrog. Westwood. Never forget.
Pandemic. Origin Systems. Never forget.
The Origin return policy is currently the only really good thing about EA. I wish Steam did that. I have a couple of games I bought that would have been returned after few hours of playing.
Yeah, me too *cough Stanley parable*
Or i could vote for Valve. Or ID Software. Or Bethesda. Or Rockstar Games.
Rockstar Games is scottish tho.
Or i could vote for Valve. Or ID Software. Or Bethesda. Or Rockstar Games.
Neither the game dev or the publisher deserve to be voted the best company in America.
Yeah, me too *cough Stanley parable*
Waa? I didn't know The Stanley Parable was involved here unless you meant trading a game for that... Heck, I'd give up Atom Zombie Smasher for it.
Im still never buying an EA game ever again so suck it EA.
Neither the game dev or the publisher deserve to be voted the best company in America.
"Hey, these companies make good games so therefore they all deserve best company in America"
Step 1: Stop forcing people to use the cesspit that is Origin.
Because Valve didn't do the same thing with Steam.
They don't even do any developing, they slap a logo on some other company's game and take profits.
Thank you for defining what a publisher is.
And stop killing off franchises after ruining them through milking them out.
It's funny how gamers always want more, but when they get more it becomes milking the franchise.
Taking bad moves and bad calls wasn't entirely there fault? Its completely there fault. The developers maybe not so much but the assholes in suits running the place completely.
I've noticed a pattern: when a game is good, it's because the developers made the right decision; and when a game is bad, it's because the publishers forced the developers to do terrible things. Developers can do no wrong and publishers can do no good.
It seems that even EA has ambitions
Because Valve didn't do the same thing with Steam.
Steam isn't shit.
Thank you for defining what a publisher is.
Actually, a publisher helps by preparing the product for sale, EA is not doing that; it's eating the studio and forcing them to do what EA wants.
It's funny how gamers always want more, but when they get more it becomes milking the franchise.
No, we want more QUALITY, we'd happily wait (assuming they make it known it's being worked on) if we knew it was going to be of quality (See: Deus Ex:HR).
I've noticed a pattern: when a game is good, it's because the developers made the right decision; and when a game is bad, it's because the publishers forced the developers to do terrible things. Developers can do no wrong and publishers can do no good.
It's because a lot of gamers see developers as people, but the people who do publishing as inherently evil, because money.
Steam isn't shit.
idk about you but origin is both faster and more stable than steam for me
idk about you but origin is both faster and more stable than steam for me
Steam has more games tho
Steam has more games tho
well nothing's stopping you from using both and getting all the game
EA isn't the worst company in America, there are a lot worse companies that do more evil than a gaming publisher, people are just stupid. Target corporations that use sweatshop workers for cheap labor and that damage the environment for fuck sake
The only people who vote on and care about the "golden turd" awards are 13 year olds who only care about videogames, that's why companies that have literally ruined peoples' lives are never #1.
Im still never buying an EA game ever again so suck it EA.
I'm sure they'll miss the 0.000001% (give or take some 0's) difference in income you not buying their games causes. EA as a publisher are doing their job. They do need to avoid interfering with the development teams as much as they do, but that really isn't the worst problem they have right now. Their main problem is like all other publishers, they are playing it massively safe and we're not seeing new ideas just in case they fail to sell. Causing studios that aren't invested in the current trend to develop shit-tier flops and kill themselves off as a result.
imo it's funny that we can consider any company to be the "best" company, because the entire idea behind a company is to make money off of you. the only difference between EA and valve and activision is how much it hurts when they fuck you. activision goes in dry, ea uses the discount lube, and valve uses one of those industrial 55 gallon barrels.
Waa? I didn't know The Stanley Parable was involved here unless you meant trading a game for that... Heck, I'd give up Atom Zombie Smasher for it.
I would have loved to exchange it or get a refund, because it is exactly everything I don't want in a game. It wasn't a bad game, it's just the opposite of what I like about games.
I would have loved to exchange it or get a refund, because it is exactly everything I don't want in a game. It wasn't a bad game, it's just the opposite of what I like about games.
...so then why did you buy it. Its not like it doesn't tell you upfront exactly what it is.
steam was fucking dreadful for the first few years [editline]29th November 2013[/editline] steam jams the entire closed barrel inside you and steals your wallet
Good thing it's almost 2014. Besides. Origin can't compete saleswise and on the amount of games. Which means they cant compete on the amount of games on sale. I installed Origin for the BF4 beta and I thought it was absolutely awful. The interface was intuitive, I disliked the color scheme, it was slow, and also unresponsive a lot. Also the BF4 beta took ages to download.
...so then why did you buy it. Its not like it doesn't tell you upfront exactly what it is.
Because I thought I would like it, and then didn't? I don't understand what you are getting at, have you never been disappointed by something you bought? It's not like I'm demanding a refund all I said is that I didn't like it and if I had the chance I would have gotten a refund...
Didn't EA get a new CEO recently? I'd at least be willing to give them a chance, and it's good that they at least realized for themselves that they aren't doing a lot of things very well, and are trying - and willing - to change.
What could go wrong from the former EA Sports Vice President turned CEO of the whole thing?
Rockstar Games is scottish tho.
Rockstar was Scottish though they were bought by an american company so, it could Qualify.
good joke
